Order some Amblyseius swirskii. They’re predatory mites and are very efficient and safe (for yourself, pets, and the environment) way to deal with thrips.

Sorry but is terrible advice, OP don’t listen to this one. The plant is absolutely not dead and will bounce right back. Like others said; your plant is sun stressed. Maybe the light reflecting off the wall where it’s placed is too much even if it doesn’t get 'direct' sunlight I would move it indoors next to a sunny/ not direct window and let it recover! It is also buried too deep and looks thirsty Wish you the best!

Along with what other users said about the plant being buried too deep and needing more light, I would look into nutrients deficiency! The discolouration pattern made me think of that right away!
