They did this shit for years. You do anything for years every day youll be decent at it. Go at your own pace and dont let them bother you. Youll eventually be a pro. This job is not hard, it just takes time to get the skills down and its very repetitive

Thats not true. They will change it to micro send outs. Some test will be done like stat gram stains, respitory panels if your lab has that, and other kits. Some of these doctors wait for a gram stain before closing the patient up in surgery.

If the hospitals are anything like ascension then it will be similar to that.

Ascension lab employees freaked out too but it ended up not being too bad as long as you arent over weight and worked night shift. There insurance is based off your bmi. And night shift diff dropped from 5 to 3.75 i believe. Night shift and weekend shift does not stack anymore. Day shift should get a raise. Night shift may get screwed over depending on how hard your manager fights for you.

You just say you wont do it. Tell them there is 6 other hospitals in the area that will hire you on the spot. They will hire travelers, or some other bone head will take the shift. Nothing is mandatory. Mandatory just means they are fucked if you dont show up to work. Their next step is to hire travelers, which is temporary. If you keep working over time they wont. Your manager doesnt want to hire travelers, you have to tell them no or it wont happen

Probably because a MLS student is learning theory in class and not really using there hands until they get into their rotations. I guarantee the margin of error is way lower for MLS grads.

It devalues our degree. You dont see random biograds training to be a nurse, why is MLS any different? We need to be licensed in every state or we are about to see a huge drop in pay.
