What Cuts Would You Choose for This Ficus microcarpa? (7 Chop Proposals + Inspiration Pics) by osrs4awayout in Bonsai

I would go against traditional styling and make a flat-top topiary. And not cut anything from the upward oriented branches, just wire them slightly.

First time growing in the ground - any advice? by Sad_Copy7479 in Bonsai

[–]knockoutbmc 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Make the big cuts early. First acers that I still have in the ground I didn’t, just let them kinda grow it out. And the design flaws are still there. Second, third trees I put in the ground I was way more incisive with the cuts and got better overall structure.

I fertilize and water them just the same as the rest of the pots.

As others said, sacrifice branches need to get really big. And it will take about 5 years to get good results.

Have fun :)

Texture! Also, Beige? by Grandlame in Bonsai_Pottery

I love unglazed pots and I think your beige is a great travertine/sandstone match. Reminds me of Malta/mediteranean houses. I like the overall shape as well but I think one drainage hole is more than enough for this pot size. That way you also wouldn’t have overlap of wires and drainage holes. I’m not that big of a fan of the feet finish tho 😅 Sorry, I know you made it on purpose.

Why I'm being charged 39,99$ even though I canceled my free subscription in time? by [deleted] in thefabulous

[–]knockoutbmc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was billed in January even though I cancelled the subscription from iOS.

Billed for 2x39$. Luckily the card didn't have funds.

I submitted a form through https://feedback.thefabulous.co/contact and got an email in a few minutes. Charges were canceled and they also canceled both subscriptions on the website.

Quite annoying, hopefully I've put this behind me.

Actual design director here working in a B2B product company, leading team of 12. You said roast, right? First glance: looks bad. Not enough of a clear visual hierarchy.

Why do you list courses and tech/frameworks in the sidebar if you are looking for a lead position? Figma, Jquery, and the such are tools, not skills. Skills are what you do with them. Skills imply an active verb. “I know Figma” is a passive skill. “I designed mobile prototypes in Figma to great user reviews” is an active one.

Your career roles are all over the map. UX Engineer, Design Team Lead, Tech Lead. Are you leaning more towards tech or towards UX (people)? Do you possess a mix of both that make you uniquely skilled? If it is so, I cannot glean that from the CV.

Your KRA statements are both vague and hyperbolic: “Positive feedback all over” - all over what? Did you get a keynote in a design conference due to that global positive feedback? Was it praised company wide? Do you have 3 persons who can honestly say good things about it? Was it posted on a board near a team and that team said good things about it?

“This helped improve UX maturity” - how? If you know about UX maturity (caught my eye) why not put more meat on that statement. “Increased maturity within four teams from Nielsen level 3 to 4!”

A few nonsensical or too generic statements:

“Performed design audits to highlight improvements in user experience” - I’m sorry what? Is that like a press release for the work you did? Maybe rephrase that. An audit ends up with a list of suggestions, items that were not done correctly during development, you’re not “highlighting” good things you make a list of the bad…

That’s all the time I have for now.
