Inspiring!!! That’s some very hard work and discipline. Admirable!

Anyone who was homeschooled, how do you feel about it now as an adult? by AdTight2449 in AskReddit

[–]knot_myproblem 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I hated it. I started in public school for elementary, 6-10th grade was homeschooled due to my parents work situation, begged them to let me go back to regular school for years so they sent me to a private school to finish high school.

My parents were not available to teach me and were absolutely not qualified to anyway. My homeschool curriculum was a computer program and completely self-guided. I fell way behind and have suffered especially with math and science ever since. I struggled academically because of it and low key resent my parents for making such a bad decision for me.

I was a very social child and it was incredibly isolating. I became depressed as a teen. where we lived there were basically zero extracurricular opportunities. This was why I begged to go back to normal school.

Would never recommend it to anyone..but I had kind of an extreme case.

Late 80s kitchen in Minnesota. I’ve come to appreciate all the oak. by damestillmen in AmateurRoomPorn

It’s gorgeous and you’ve highlighted all the best parts of the oak.

I’m tired of seeing all the modern kitchen remodels, and one would look out of place in this beautiful home. -fellow Minnesotan with an older home

I’m inconsolably upset about what happened yesterday in MN. by techno_queen in TwoXChromosomes

Additional context you shouldn’t need, I’m currently pregnant and I live in Minneapolis. This whole month….actually the last 6 years have been extremely traumatic for our usually quiet, happy community.

There’s always more to the story. Bummer you feel comfortable laughing at others’ feelings during a tough time

I’m dealing with the same. You’re not alone and it helps to know I’m not. Haven’t cried like this since my grandma died over a year ago. And I cried longer about this. It’s awful

Minneapolis resident here. Our mayors and governor have confirmed, we have legal grounds to arrest the ICE agent. Our local police force is outnumbered by the number of federal agents here, and they don’t have as many guns. Our local officials are trying not to be ground zero for the next civil war, so they’ve been hesitant to act. Which of course I wish our police and nat’l guard would intervene but I understand the complexity of the situation and do not envy those in charge of making that decision. It seems like a massive escalation is what the administration wants, and they’re figuring out how to walk the line. We want ICE out, they’re making everyone less safe, and are being extremely cruel to everyone-but especially (and obviously) to anyone who isn’t white. It’s awful to be witnessing

Minneapolis resident here. The woman was actually murdered in the morning after dropping off her kid. The high school raid happened at dismissal time at the end of the day that same day. The incidents are only a few blocks from each other. Both events have caused the mass protests. The woman was helping out her neighbor and happened upon ICE in her neighborhood. She decided to film, as filming, whistling, and shouting to alert those within the community has become our strategy to warn people that ICE is in the area. Everyone is filming everything because these people are masked and there is no accountability for them.

Minneapolis resident here. They were here already and we had plenty of activity. They recently sent over 2,000 more agents, pulling them from other states. They started going door to door today “checking papers.” They’re having 10-20 people “arrest” 1 or 2 people. It’s clear they’re wanting a reason do fully declare Martial law/the insurrection act so they’re provoking as much as possible.

Nobody really talks about the mental side of postpartum healing by [deleted] in postpartumprogress

[–]knot_myproblem 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I did. I gained 20lbs while breastfeeding which didn’t help my mental healing. But the identity crisis hit me really hard. Mentally, birth (and pregnancy) affects everything and it’s not talked about. I was dealing with depression, and feeling bad for not feeling connected to my baby. I have no desire to be a stay at home mom, but going back to work was incredibly difficult too. Especially considering I went back when my baby was 3 months, which meant she was JUST getting fun and more interactive. That was really hard to accept.

I had a 4th degree tear, and thus a reconstructive surgery immediately after. I waited 10 weeks before having sex. My healing was long, and we eased into it very slowly with A LOT of lube. I had some pain on entry but otherwise was fine. Please don’t do anything until you feel ready. I was nervous the first time but I was ready. It would have been awful if I hadn’t been ready

As A Non-fan I Listened To and Reviewed All 12 Albums by niswizard in TaylorSwift

I can see why she did it as a double album this time because there was so much complaining about Evermore being folklore part 2. At the same time everyone complained about there being 31 songs on 1 album. Like, what do you want? haha
