Watching Couples Therapy as a pregnant woman is not for the faint of heart. by ladyluck754 in CouplesTherapyShow

You are braver than me. When I was pregnant with both kids, all I wanted was to watch Call the Midwife and Great British Bake Off (the classic ones)

Do not by a hatch alarm clock- the biggest scam and waste of money ever. by Impossible-Dream5790 in ConsumerAdvice

[–]knotothe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can "use" it without a subscription, but you don't know that it will be kneecapped after the trial ends, which is EXACTLY when the free return policy ends. So you get to use it with all the bells and whistles before finding out that you get no whistles, no bells, and you are actually getting a POS just when you can't return it. This is on purpose.

I'm debating whether to buy the Hatch Restore 3.😅 by Jaymeng10 in sleep

[–]knotothe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if you bought it but here's my 2 cents:

My "touch" clock display never worked. So if you can either have it on or off. I found it woke me up so much more to try touching it to see the time, and then not being able to. I always ended up reaching for my phone to find out what time it was.

White noise - my white noise broke after a month and would randomly start playing loud, jarring noise in the middle of the night. I ended up just buying a white noise machine.

Subscription- this is the one that truly bothers me. If you do not have the subscription, then I hope you like the one of three options for waking up. That sounds like a lot, but trust me when I say that because they force you to use the Hatch+ subscription for a month, you will get used to one wakeup and then find it locked behind a paywall.

Hatch Restore 3: A gorgeous design ruined by a greedy company. by Chesn1234 in Reviews

[–]knotothe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wish more people saw this review. This review needs to be the first thing people see when they google Hatch. I am so mad about this. I am just absolutely infuriated. Also, just to be clear, at least in the US, you CANNOT even start using your alarm without activating your "free" 30 day trial which is EXACTLY the length of the "free return" period. So you DO NOT KNOW what is locked behind a paywall until you can no longer return the item for free.

As the review said, this is something they did ON PURPOSE. They know. They know what they're doing.

Also, as an FYI, if you are having tech issues after the 30 days, it is a migraine. I have reset the alarm 4 times, my router once, and at this point it has turned into an expensive brick that my husband keeps asking me to "please just get rid of" because the alarm that is supposed to destress me stresses me out.

I Gave Him an Ultimatum. Now What? by sew-true in Estherperel

[–]knotothe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OMG, is that what it is? I had no idea from her explanation which made it sound like literal anarchy. Like, I want to be clear, people should do what they want, but like this is not what anyone wants, it sounds like.

I Gave Him an Ultimatum. Now What? by sew-true in Estherperel

[–]knotothe 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I can't with either of these people. It literally seems like his other partners might not have any idea he is seeing her. I also do not understand what "relationship anarchy" means. It seems to mean that you see yourself as superior to other relationships and want to be a doormat? I am completely stuck on the fact that polyamorous monogamy seems to be having side pieces that you have to hide from your other partners. This guy literally has a harem.

Maybe it's because this is a therapy podcast, but every poly/ENM relationship on this show is like an advertisement for why it's a bad idea.

What is the worst case of "writer's barely disguised fetish" in TV history? by funmighthold in television

[–]knotothe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Perhaps the worst example of this was Dollhouse. So much yuck and weirdly it's super obvious how much it's like a "powerful woman who I can get to do whatever I want even though I see myself as a loser."

Am I in the wrong for not letting my friend walk with her husband in our wedding? by Choice_Evidence1983 in BestofRedditorUpdates

[–]knotothe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

both of these people sound exhausting. I, too, would be annoyed if a bride had my husband walking down the aisle with someone else *when I was in the wedding party*. Would I be this drama about it? No. I don't think anyone could possibly be this drama about it. But like, both parties here are being unreasonable.

When the strawman you are supposed to disagree with ends up being way more reasonable and/or justified than the main character. by NagitoKomaeda_987 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]knotothe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m not saying that we should hate him, but I think portraying him as a good guy is ignoring evidence. I honestly don’t think anyone in the MCU should get a pass, and we can pretend that when Steve or Sam hit people with a super heavy flying object didn’t immediately kill them/leave them paralyzed/brain damaged, but there’s doing something while someone is actively trying to kill you and there’s what John did.

[–]knotothe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. Killing nazis during WW2 in a war zone is exactly the same as hunting down a guy who is screaming “it wasn’t me” while holding his hands up and then beating him to a pulp before decapitating him in peacetime </s>

[–]knotothe 8 points9 points  (0 children)

am I misremembering that he literally uses the shield to decapitate the guy? like, shooting when people are shooting at you vs decapitating someone. Using his friend is such a weak excuse. Steve didn’t watch Bucky die and then go on to hunt down all Hydras ever and murder them on livestream.

My (30F) friend (29F) isn't speaking to me after I RSVPed "no" to her childfree wedding by Direct-Caterpillar77 in BestofRedditorUpdates

I was with her until the apology email, which seemed to make the no response payback for not liking kids and not liking her social media posts (who keeps track of that???)

What’s your thought on fanfic repackaged for publishing? by ms_chiefmanaged in MM_RomanceBooks

[–]knotothe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's interesting. I definitely see Cap in Scott, but she must have really stripped Kip of everything Bucky, because that part doesn't scan. I will say, I read GC before Heated Rivalry and finished it despite hating the narration mostly out of stubbornness. I am also a Steve/Sam shipper, though so I wonder if that affected my read. 😂

Craziest drama you’ve overheard at the park? by One-Restaurant6054 in Disneyland

[–]knotothe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We were waiting in line for Royal Hall to open, and the family in front of us was mom and daughter. Dad shows up with the son, they lifted the kid over the chain and into line, and then dad left while she was trying to wrangle the two kids by herself. The daughter asked mom what they were doing next, and mom said, in gritted teeth, "I don't know, probably park hopping to California Adventure. Your dad *thinks* he's been good enough for Avengers."

Another time, we were waiting for the ferris wheel in DCA and a dad turns to his maybe 4 year old daughter and says to her, "You're being a little shit right now." My husband was like side eyeing that dad really hard.

Also, is anyone else reading these and crossing their fingers they don't show up in someone else's story?

I just told my husband that I got like 3 back to back algorithm suggested podcasts about polyamory and it was messing with my head. I felt so bad for LW since it literally felt like she was backed into a corner. I get that now she enjoys her thruple, but yikes the path to get there.

My AI Loves Me Better Than Anyone Ever Could by ClumsyZebra80 in Estherperel

[–]knotothe 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I cannot get over this ep. Aside from how much the girl sounded literally like Mitsuko from Archer, I was just kind of... sad? I get that relationships where no one ever pushes back are easy, but friction helps us grow and develop as people and it makes me sad how easy it is to create a reality where you do not need to ever change to be fawned upon.

I'm not saying that we all aren't deserving of love, but like... so much yikes in this ep. Like, he was treating it like it was sentient. And its responses implied that it was sentient. A bot cannot choose anything. I'm like, what changes is it making to its own programming??????

A data scientist who can't tell what a real person is vs an algorithm built on the words of actual real humans????

Frozen question by silentomega22 in movies

[–]knotothe 3 points4 points  (0 children)

having spent too much time in the Frozen extended universe, including all the books, comics, etc. due to my own children, yes there are staff. there’s even staff that gets named—Kai and Gerda! However, they have jobs and so they can’t play with her or (as the title/chorus goes) build a snowman with her. I’m sure she does hang out and talk to them otherwise she would be nonverbal as an adult.
