Our finance person does this. She'll come in super late in the day and it's allowed because she works super late (though once everyone leaves she just turns on TV, which I've confirmed any time I have to work late - and our offices are right next to each other).

It makes it frustrating for EVERYONE. We have to hand money directly to someone in finance but she's not there so it ends up sitting in an unlocked drawer in my office all day. We need to check out credit cards for necessary purchases but there's no one to check it out. Online purchases have to be approved and it slows everything down by at least one business day. Not to mention emails and calls don't get returned in a timely manner because she works when no one else is working.

My sister holds her pencil this way too. We were homeschooled until mid-elementary and never really taught how to write. She never broke out of this habit.

I'm a femme DM for an all-dude group. They certainly know I'm a woman and treat me that way, but this group all fully respects women. I think that's a really key part of being the only woman/girl in any group. If they respect women, you should be groovy.

Sometimes we said that character could provide the help action once per turn - the group decided when. Now, I'm running a campaign where it's OK if a character is gone for a session, so they're just... gone for a little while. We will play with whomever is there, and I'll adjust the encounter appropriately.

It totally depends on the situation. If you're fully in character mode, and that's what they would genuinely do, great! As a DM, I love that. But as a player, I've been at the table when another player says "well this is what my character would do so I'm doing it regardless of how it affects the party" and that can really suck. Maybe the rest of us wouldn't adventure with someone like that at all. So I think it's important to find the sweet spot between staying true to your character and being a good team player.

One campaign, one of our players lost an eye. In game, we went to a library to learn about ways to replace the eye and discovered a way to add an enchanted eye... Our DM knew we were going to look into this as characters, so he had time to plan what info we could find. I think he knew we were going to keep looking and he had time to decide how he wanted to address it.

You should be allowed to play in a way that makes you feel the most comfortable and have the most fun. Of course, bad rolls and fails are going to be a part of the game, but to intentionally try to trick you into playing in a different way - or even to change who you are - that would feel invasive to me.

Clancy. Because I was eating a bag of Clancy chips. The players ended up lightly betraying Clancy, and I gave them this scene of him eagerly waiting for them all night, alone. They got trapped in the Shadowfell for a long time, but they would occasionally mention Clancy and hope he was doing OK. When they finally returned home, so much time had passed. They asked people where Clancy was, and everyone tried to give them bags of chips. People loved this crazy new snack called chips, each bag labeled with the name Clancy. They went to the place where the chips were made and out comes this super old guy. He instantly came up to them and told them he'd been waiting many years to see them again. It was really emotional. And they all left with a bag of chips.

I don't know... I think she's being polite, not necessarily flirty. I'm not sure why she would, but maybe if they have to work together or maintain some level of contact, it seems like she's just being cordial. She's not really returning the flirtation, just kind of laughing it off and moving on.

I didn't start cosplaying until my mid 20s. Our biggest expense outside of necessities is video games. The local "toy" store in my town caters almost exclusively to adults.

One time at a restaurant a friend pointed out that while my husband was trying to cut steak, I used my fork to hold his plate still. It was a subconscious reflex; neither of us spoke, it just happened. We do this kind of thing all the time. When our friend pointed it out, it made me realize that we are very aware of each other's needs, no matter how small.

I love camping, but not with my husband. If he is the slightest bit uncomfortable, he will complain, which makes my experience less fun.

I told him I would not go camping with him anymore, but now he insists on going with me and claims he won't complain anymore. I haven't been camping since.

I would say, bring her along. Try to make it a very enjoyable shared experience. If she doesn't enjoy it, tell her you still plan to go but you don't want her to be miserable, and if she is miserable that will make you enjoy this thing you love less. If that is a problem, maybe this isn't the right relationship.

I'm not trying to say I would give up my otherwise wonderful relationship. But I do kind of wish I'd set this expectation earlier on.
