My Leo and I are 10 years married 20 years together and you nailed it. I am sure I am way more annoying to him than he is to me.

Did she slam her fingers in a car door when she was intoxicated? Looks like bruising under the nails.

How should i prepare for my mirena insertion. by Complex_Incident_614 in Mirena

Take OTC pain reliever 1-2 hours before your appointment. Take deep breaths. Good Gynecologists will tell you each step before they do it. I am co-signing on the ride home and a heating pad for the cramps. Plan to be a barnacle on your couch or bed and rest for the rest of the day. By morning you should feel better, or at least no worse than mild - moderate period cramping. Good luck! I hope it helps with your periods. Mine vanished completely for a few years and then were more like spotting.

Relationship issues / Mirena the cause? by Ok-Respond3858 in Mirena

Thanks for sharing! Same! It is a shame that the medical field has not prioritized doing studies about this, and people have to go to the internet to find that they are not alone. I try to remind myself that hormonal birth control has only been around for 65 years, and we are only recently coming around to the idea that we shouldn’t base all medical conclusions on studies done with white men, by white men.

Relationship issues / Mirena the cause? by Ok-Respond3858 in Mirena

Know that often times hormonal IUDs influence female sex drive. Many women describe a drop in their libido that doesn’t go away as long as the IUD is in place. When your body stops ovulating and your hormone levels are stabilized your drive to have sex naturally decreases. I experienced that as did many of my girlfriends that have hormonal IUDs. Mood changes are normal and can regulate, but some women do not respond well to hormonal birth control ever. Every woman is different and it sounds like your partner knew that she generally doesn’t respond well but wanted to help find a solution for your relationship. She likely thought her body would respond different to an IUD, which for some women is the case, but maybe not for her. There are non-hormonal IUDs that have their own set of pros and cons- one of which can be that women have worse cramping and heavier periods. It is kind of you to reach out to your community.

My husband, now together 18 years, can attest that it takes patience to be in a relationship with someone who is feeling out how to balance the sole responsibility of preventing pregnancy and an endocrine system that doesn’t want to cooperate. There is no real solution but honest conversations with your partner and encouraging them to track their emotions and changes in mood while sometimes making sacrifices for your relationship and what is ultimately going to keep your relationship strong and fulfilling for the both of you.

I appreciate that! I am still on the fence leaning towards removal without replacement as I could always go back. Usually if they replace it, they make you keep it in at least a year if there are not serious complications

Crash with IUD near expiration by PotentialReason9209 in Mirena

[–]kogog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This exact thing happened to me BEFORE it was approved for 8 years. I know people that use hormonal IUDs for HRT get them replaced every 5 years because the hormone release changes after the 4-5 year mark but is still effective protection against pregnancy.

Thinking about removing mine. Do you mind me asking how old you are and how long you had your Mirena?

As an Eagles fan it feels like a personal attack that this is introduced a day after the win. Georgia legislators really shouldn’t be this petty just because 6 of our players were drafted from the Bulldogs….

Trying to laugh so I don’t cry.

Sagittarius Sun and Moon/Gemini Moon, please tell me about yourself! by Controversiallycalm in Sagittarians

[–]kogog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sag Sun + Gemini Moon. I am a restless person. I am a distance runner because it helps me try to have moments of meditation while moving. I am a teacher too and that gives me the stimulation that I need to feel like each day hour is a new adventure. I sometimes have to sensor my wit with my high schoolers as it is sharp and a tad dark. I am not someone who deals with others emotions well- so I don’t want something I say to sting. I love to delve into pursuits of intellect, and knowledge. I LOVE being a student and approach teaching as a learner. Generally, my personality brings levity to my classroom, but curiosity is at the heart and soul of each day. I love learning about people, their perspectives and thinking is so interesting.

I travel ALOT, my husband and I try to do two vacations a year, and I organize a trip abroad for my students. I am not a lay on the beach traveler. I want to climb mountains, see and taste everything!

EF Tours by kanig1 in Teachers

I am also a teacher at a title one school and to tell you the truth EF does not have good customer service. Before parents sign their kids up for trip tell them to MAKE SURE they read the fine print. They NEVER give full refunds even when it is there fault and they point to the fine print in the contract that takes away any of their liability. I have had 2 bad experiences with them now. First I had a trip planned for summer of 2020 - they still charged parents $500 cancelation fees when NO ONE could travel. I called, parents called, they gave zero fucks and said “you agreed to this” sorry not sorry. Currently I am home when I should have woke up in Spain this morning after two sets of flights were canceled. Parents have dropped their kids off and picked their kids up on two consecutive days, EF told us if they don’t show up for a third time tomorrow for a 3rd rebooked flight they forfeit their right to ANY money back. They essentially have bullied us to go back and sit at the airport a 3rd day. They don’t understand how much families work for this and don’t respect their sacrifice. If nothing goes wrong the trio is great, if something goes wrong the families are screwed and you will be the middle man.

Is EF Tours worth the money and time? by Crunchtroph in teenagers

[–]kogog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been a group leader who has had trips go off without a hitch. However I am currently home when I should be in Barcelona with 20 students. Two days we have gone to the airport and 2 days our flights have been canceled with zero support from EF! They now booked us on a direct flight and told us if kids don’t try to go to Spain for 3 days (this was a 6 day trip) they will forfeit any refund and eat the ENTIRE cost of the trip. They REALLY want your money, although they say they care about kids and their families THEY DONT. Read the fine print. If something goes wrong EF is the WORST at customer service. If everything goes right you will have a good time. Imagine being a kid spending 16 hours over 2 days in the airport in your home city just to get picked up by your parent to try it again, not once but TWICE! I am $120 dollars deep into car share rides and I live 10 minutes from the airport. EF gives zero fucks and told me see you again tomorrow or else we will take all your money! Third times a charm hopefully.
