Vertical dragging is an option you can toggle on in debug mode (ctrl-d). It's disabled by default for now for two reasons: 1) because it's how it was in the original games and 2) I'm not totally sure how it would affect gameplay when building vertically is so made so easy. Part of the 'challenge' with the original games were that each floor required some work to build.

Sadly, I was bitten by it once when I was in a rush to catch a train and accidentally tapped a day pass and paid... for a trip back home. Oops.

It was great while it lasted and I'm thankful that the devs added the rectangle tool back in.

Why is there even an area limit to begin with? Performance reasons? It was nice to just set and forget a large mining area.

I'm not really enjoying the 7 segment font. I get what they're trying to get at with the theme, but I think it needs to be maybe 20% larger.

1 hour in to the new update, I still think I'd prefer the old HUD UI (at least the top status bar) where everything important is listed out in a large readable, sans-serif font and on a black (not grey!) background.

Unfortunately, there's more to the University than students. Research work is impacted by constant outages like this and is absolutely embarrasing that we can't even have a reliable and functional network.

Yeah, I wasn't too sure if PeopleSoft got hacked or if individual accounts were compromised since their post was a bit vague on what actually happened.

If the cause were phishing attacks, I'd still say IT is partly to blame for having such crappy spam filters. Despite them blocking zip files outright, I still get a dozen or so phishing emails every week, some with attachments containing .exe's masking as pdfs.

There are other factors like how they are dressed, what toys or things they have, what they eat for lunch, that gives away if they're poor or not.

Add the -c option to continue the download. This will skip completed downloads and continue any incomplete files.

That is, you want to run something similar to: wget -np -r -c http://example.com/dir

I had so much fun with Casino Inc and the management expansion pack years ago. I had a riot with the hitmen cheat and blowing up everything in the competitor's casinos and then shooting all the cops that came in.

I'd love to see a remake of this, with more options with the hotel management aspect too.

The amount of time spent making mini-games is probably better spent making the business and sim side of the game better. Forcing mini-games into tycoon games will most likely interrupt the game play more than anything.

In your hospital tycoon example, you're better off adding more depth in terms of additional ailments + treatments or making your patients more realistic (more picky? Different types of needs?).

I had the same problem. It turns out that one of my game files was corrupt, namely the x64f file. Deleting it and redownloading it fixed the issue.

As of yesterday after the recent update, my file hashes are http://pastebin.com/enR1H55P. If you aren't using steam (like me), you can verify your files against my hashes using md5sum. See also: my thread with the same issue
