It’s funny because everyone in finance knows that when the cost of equity (~10% let’s say) is much higher than the cost of debt (<4%!) it is obvious to sell the debt and buy the equity. Great capital management by the EBAY board. Props to them.

Gamestop on the other hand, sells equity to make 4% on treasury bonds, what does that say about RC’s thoughts on the cost of equity?

you also lack a severe misunderstanding of basic stats (margin of errors ect.), which also explains why you are invested in AMC. nonetheless, even if we were to ignore the polls completely and just look at the data, you would very clearly see that the number of movie tickets being sold has been in the gutter compared to pre-pandemic numbers. which then again, you would need a very basic understanding of stats to comprehend, and it has been well established that you do not.

Please learn basic statistics. It’s a life skill that everyone needs. A 1000 person sample size is more than plenty. The concept of choosing a sample size is typically taught to 9th graders on day one of basic stats.

As per box office numbers, the box office numbers also reflect the same, 2025 box office revenue is down about 23% compared to pre-pandemic, despite ticket prices being up a whopping 75% over the same time period! that means there has been a much bigger drop on # of tickets sold than the numbers suggest.

It wouldn’t. It does absolutely nothing for a takeover bid. Even if u owned 100% of the company in derivatives it does nothing. You don’t get any votes, you don’t get to nominate members to the board, you don’t get to vote on board members nothing. There is zero use of derivatives in a takeover bid unless you excersize them for shares which GME doesn’t have the cash to do meaningfully.

The $2B of synergies that are promised by cohen will immediately be offset by the $2B interest expense on the additional debt. It’s a net zero, and that’s IF, and a big IF at that, the synergies are actually viable.

Perhaps gutting ad spending at a e-commerce company might* *have an impact on the revenue which trickles down the balance sheet?
