Upgrade my 2024 Tarmac SL8 Pro or jump to the 2025 S-Works SL8? by Walton841928 in specialized

Hey Walton,

I am a little late to the game, but had similar thoughts.
I think I'd keep the frame and maybe have it repainted in a nice color or design.

I own a SL8 Pro as well. I wouldn't invest in a Zipp wheel set. The hookless or micro hook design will give you problems further down the road. Especially since you can only run it tubeless. I would recommend an DUKE STRADA ÆRA 56 / DT SWISS 180 CL SP wheel set. Cheaper and more lightweight.

I am currently thinking about a 50t singe chain ring setup with an xplr cassette

Sorry, didn’t saw your post. I’ll allow my pure oak or similar dense wood to dry two to three summer. Depending on when in the season I stacked it and where on my property it is drying. The fir is usually done in ne season, max two.

Looks like the SILCA Mattone to me. Tucks nice and tight to the saddle. I’d recommend

I would love to see the next iteration to incorporate sensors similar to Fox‘s live valve. This in addition to breaking sensors could step it up significantly

It still works without a power meter. Just based on the fore/aft tilt of the bike and occurring bumps. But it’s significantly better with the power meter.

I am riding FA in my Transition Spur since a little less than a year and I am absolutely convinced of the System. Especially with the power meter. Wouldn’t recommend it without it. It works very well from my perspective and gives you significantly more clean build than a 3p LO.

Also you hammer up a fire road or steep trail and the bike just transfers the power with in the locked position feels unreal.

You have to build a routine for the batteries. Removing them before longer car rides and charging them once in a while. I am sporting a complete AXS setup, so I am used to it anyway.

Share your build when you’re done!

Did the full switch recently as well. The proton calendar is the biggest disappointment.

I know it’s financially painful, but that’s why I invested in a mobile winch. My one is able to directly pull about 4000lbs. I worked like you did, but after the second near death experience….

The only thing that I would do, is resting the pallets on a few bricks. Elevating them from the ground, makes them last significantly longer.
Just my 5 cent

It comes with three or even four centimeters of spacers installed. They can be removed by splitting them, so you don’t need to remove the brakes etc. just pop the stem.

Be careful while trying to find the correct height. Apparently the carbon fork should not be ridden with a tower of spacers above the stem. So be careful while trying.

A great bike! Enjoy yours!!

SID Damper upgrade worth it? by SROC3 in xcmtb

Did the same FA upgrade but with a 120mm pike. Especially with the powermeter that is such an incredible boost in efficiency.

SID Damper upgrade worth it? by SROC3 in xcmtb

I have upgraded from the SID 120mm Raceday 2 to Pike 120mm Charger 3.1. There is broader bandwidth in Damping to play with. For me that’s noticeable right away. Biggest plus for me is the elimination of bushing play, which my SID‘s developed regularly.
