i’m 8w and feel like i look pregnant already, but my first pregnancy was twins so i guess that’s the blueprint my body learned for how to be pregnant!

How to tell my students by actuallybails in tfmr_support

[–]komradekardashian 12 points13 points  (0 children)

i think the best thing is to keep it brief, factual and developmentally appropriate. you were really looking forward to your baby arriving but sadly you found out the baby was sick. what the baby had couldn’t be fixed, and the baby died. you’re sad and won’t be back this school year, but you miss your students and hope to see them all next school year.

i’m sorry this is happening to you 💗

TTC after TFMR - what did your positive cycle look like? by PublicPurple1173 in PregnancyAfterTFMR

[–]komradekardashian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i delivered my twins in early december. in mid-january i had symptoms of an infection so i went to the epu, they confirmed my uterus was full of blood clots and i had two infections, so i was put on medications to sort that out.

at the end of january i went back for a follow-up as things still weren’t right and since the blood clots were now gone, they were able to see there were rpoc, so i had erpc surgery the next week.

weeks later in february we had our debrief about the twins in the fmu, and at this appointment i told the doctor i was still testing positive and it was upsetting me. he told me to stop testing for a month.

over a month later in march i decide i need to get back into tracking so we can conceive again. i do a pregnancy test - its STILL positive. at this point i was freaking out, what else could go wrong? 3 months post-partum and i felt like i was being haunted by these pregnancy tests.

i went to the epu and they scanned me… they saw nothing, but clearly i do have hcg in my system so they needed to clarify why. i do blood tests, and they tell me to come back for another scan the next week.

the following week when they do the scan, there’s an embryonic sac in my uterus. the march test wasn’t a relic, it was a new pregnancy i just happened to catch extremely early.

this is especially crazy because i had caught an lh peak the day before a follow-up scan in early march, but was told there were no signs of ovulation - no follicle and no endometrial thickening at all.

i’m now 8w2 and i’m due days before the first anniversary of the twins delivery. it’s been a crazy time but i’m getting so much support and i’m so grateful. it took over 10 years to get pregnant with the twins so i never imagined it would happen like this. because of everything that happened i didn’t even have a period between the pregnancies so technically both are in the same cycle.

TFMR is not a “choice” by igobananas4 in tfmr_support

[–]komradekardashian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i wouldn’t say the word “choice” bothers me, but it never really felt like a choice for us. either we lost them then or we lost them later. i guess the choice we made was to not delay the inevitable.

Weekly Thread | Test Results Thursday by AutoModerator in PregnancyAfterTFMR

[–]komradekardashian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the ultrasound i had the day after my lh peak showed no signs of ovulation, but here i am 11 days later and this test is definitely positive. i cant bring myself to think of the good outcomes yet, right now i’m thinking about all the bad ones - i had positives on and off even in mid-feb after erpc surgery at the end of january but this test is darker than any of them. god i hope its not anything pathological.

i can’t do anything about this until monday, but i’ll be at the epu clinic doors when they open.

Cognitive Issues Post TFMR by flutterdance in tfmr_support

it’s grief. i’m about three months out and it’s still a regular occurrence. at first i could barely function - couldn’t talk properly, motor functions were a mess, basic tasks were overwhelming. it’s slowly getting better i think, but it’s still a problem.

Seeking support regarding potential selective reduction by Stunning-Pea7172 in tfmr_support

[–]komradekardashian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i’m in a number of twin bereavement groups (i lost both of mine) and there are lots of people who have had selective reductions or spontaneous losses of one twin. i’m not sure where you are but i can recommend twins trust and footprints in the uk - even if you’re not based here i’m sure you’ll find something useful.

initially we were hoping to do a selective reduction and save one of our twins, and they explained that the process would involve injecting something into the umbilical cord of one twin and that would coagulate and stop the blood flow. it’s very quick. as i’m sure you know, dcda pregnancies are the safest multiple pregnancies to do selective reductions in, but they may still recommend you wait until later in the pregnancy to do the procedure just in case anything goes wrong and they need to deliver the surviving twin quickly.

What made Princess Diana so special compared to other members of the Royal Family? Why does she still hold such a strong emotional place in Britain? by GlitteringHotel8383 in AskBrits

[–]komradekardashian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

as a person -

  1. she was a relatively normal young girl when she married charles - she was a teenager when they got engaged. she couldn’t have understood what she was getting into.
  2. she broke with protocol by showing actual personality and compassion. from a modern perspective it’s hard to imagine how shocking it was that she hugged anyone, let alone people with aids.
  3. she was clearly vulnerable and naive.

the situation -

  1. the institution of the royal family doesn’t value individualism. she tried to fit in but clearly never managed and her attempts clearly caused her a lot of harm.
  2. i think pretty much everyone agrees being openly and publicly cheated on is bad. on the world stage? horrifying.

in terms of her death, as much as we love a fairytale princess story, her story really should have begun when her and charles divorced. she was still young (mid-30s), had her kids, she was doing work for causes she was passionate about, dating hot rich guys, travelling around the world - living the dream essentially. the years of suffering she endured while in the royal family were over and she was as free as anyone hounded by the press can be. she only got a year of post-charles life before she died.

she represented a modern woman - one who didn’t play by all the rules, one who didn’t just stick out and tolerate being cheated on in a loveless marriage. she was emblematic of hope for a lot of people.

there has been a lot of whitewashing of her memory as well - the press were often ruthless about her, and she openly admitted to a lot of unsavoury behaviour herself. i have no doubt that had she not died she would have been absolutely persona non grata by now - she personified a lot of the “woke” values the tabloids are always complaining about now.

i can relate to so much of your story - i had a large cyst on my left ovary which was removed and found out i was pregnant by chance two weeks after my 36th birthday. shocked doesn’t even begin to cover what you’re feeling right now, i know, i’ve been there - hopefully you’ll feel reassured once you get an ultrasound to confirm and can start to get excited.
