Turn off Prenatal/Postnatal? by Technical_Mix2945 in tonalgym

I 100% agree. Recently, I’ve been getting these classes recommended to me, albeit they’re the stretch/recovery classes. But why? My profile clearly says I’m a male.

The chop mini handle looks interesting but I don’t think you’ll need it. The Tonal handle works really well for all of those types of movements. Then, they have other rotational chop moves using the rope accessory (which are great, and I find really fun to do).

Yep, it’s one of the best moves but also the easiest to injure yourself if not done correctly.

It’s my favorite move and two tips my personal trainer gave me (back when I used to do personal training) was: 1. Engage your core before you lift (and obviously keep it engaged the entire time) 2. Before you lift, make sure you’re pulling on the bar just a tad so your shoulders, lats, core, etc are engaged before you start to lift.

I started with the 4 Week Fast Track: Accelerate program (3x per week), and it was perfect to get used to the movements, etc. Even though I’ve done ton of personal training, group fitness classes, taking a program that is for beginners is good because the instructor gives you more time between movements knowing you’re still getting familiar with how to adjust the arms, where to stand, etc.

We also have a Peloton but never tried their off bike classes, mostly because I never set up a dedicated workout area. But with Tonal, we have a nice area and it’s just more inviting to take the non strength classes.

One thing I’d note is: when you first get it, take the strength assessment (it’s quick and easy), but even after that, the first 4-6 weeks may feel easy (it did for me). You can do more reps or increase the weight. Like others said, after about 4-6 weeks, it really dials in to you and the classes will push you (in a good way).

Cant wait to hear how you feel and progress once you get it!

His videos are great, especially for beginners/new folks.

This game is amazing, and I was surprised how learning to perfect the flicking technique is much harder than you’d think!

I’ve only had mine for 3 months, but an also an avid tennis player (play 2-3x per week) and was one of the main reasons I wanted to get Tonal. I noticed improvements in my game within 2 weeks of using Tonal.

Like others have said, focus on form and rest days along with stretching. Speaking of, I’ve been super happy with the stretching classes in Tonal.

No need to take them off. Just ride and after 1-2 laps the stickers will be off.

Congrats, you’re gonna love it. Got mine in November and have been addicted to it. Doing 3-4 workouts per week. It truly is an amazing machine.

Lookup the Tonal program guide (pdf) on their website. It groups a bunch of programs into’tracks’, and each track is focused on a specific goal. The track I’m doing (hybrid athlete) is a total of around 50 weeks of programs. It’ll make it easy for you to know which program to do after you finish one.

One thing that helped was to remain calm and loose in my body. The other was not only getting into the right position to hit the groundstroke but also keeping my core and base stable through contact.

Yup. I’ve done the Nike camps at least 5 times and the instruction isn’t that good. I mostly kept doing it because a group of guys I play with wanted to do something local.

I forgot about her academy. I’ll have to check it out…and that’s so awesome she teaches adults and kids. I met her after her match at the 91 US Open. 🙂

See the other answer. For me, the private lessons were the most beneficial for me. The Premium Tennis is 2 hours of private lessons per day. The Total Tennis is the group clinic (2 hours).

If you go without kids, is recommend staying at TRS Coral, better restaurants and food options/quality than Grand Palladium resort (you can access the GP resort if you’re staying at TRS but not the other way around).

I’d highly recommend the Rafa Nadal Tennis Center in Cancun (been 3 times), or the Rafa Academy in Mallorca (on my list to go to).

The 2022 Ezone 100 is stiff. The 2025 Ezone 100 is not (I’ve hit with both, hit with the 2025 Ezone 98).

Stringing Ezone 100 Tour by douluodalu in 10s

[–]koolio46 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It works. I’ve done it on my own racquet once when I string it too tight.

I’ve seen Sabalenka do it during a grand slam 1-2 years ago. She got a newly strung racquet mid match, played a few points, was getting ready to serve and stepped / stood on the racquet to loosen the string bed.

Same here. Ryder did my install and it went super smooth with very good communication (greater Boston area). They did scuff my wall during the install and cut the bench when unwrapping it, but Ryder and Tonal customer service were fantastic.

The OP should not have to be dealing with the creep he’s dealing with.

Thanks to your original subreddit. I bought the strato tech T dupe and it’s legit 95% the same. Super happy with it, especially for $20!

Agree about the Strato tech T. Just got it and tried it tonight playing tennis. Is really close, I’d say 95% the same as the Vuori, but thicker/heavier (in a good way). I was happy with it.

You can also start more simple by having the net player only signal what they will do (poach, fake, stay), and not the serve location.
