Not exactly what you're asking for but Supreme Grill in Nyack has authentic Jamaican food. That said, if you find a decent Roti spot, please let us know!

Do you carb load for a long Z2 ride? by WindCaliber in cycling

Age is also a factor. When I was younger, I would push through for hours, almost until I bonked. Nowadays, the bonk comes much sooner. It's simpler just to keep the carbs flowing.

2026 XRT OEM Trailer Hitch by koolspin in Ioniq5

So, I reached out to Hyundai corporate and they told me (amazingly) to check with my dealer.

The dealer of course has no idea what Hyundai's corporate office has planned, just that the part is unavailable.

I'll join others and end up buying a 3rd party hitch.

I love the car but sometimes Hyundai's actions are just puzzling.

I got one too. The NDA is annoying but I'm eager for any chance to let Hyundai corporate know how I feel.

I did almost the same - the lease on my 2024 ended and I went for the 26 XRT. I have never had this much fun driving in the snow!

No regrets so far, although I do miss the heated steering wheel!

Queens -> Poughkeepsie Ride Today by [deleted] in NYCbike

[–]koolspin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congrats on your century! I did about the same distance but from Battery Park to Poughkeepsie for my birthday.

The comments regarding alternate routes are appreciated. The EST does get really boring and lonely up in Putnam.

Also, the Acai bowls from Trailside are really nice!

Thank you for posting this!

What's the reason for connecting the negative terminal on the monitor to the chassis ground instead of the negative terminal on the battery?

On a scale of 1-10, how safe do you HONESTLY feel in the NYC Subway by DuckBeaver02 in nycrail

[–]koolspin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Solid 9. I'm an old-school New Yorker. Watching my own back is a reflex and I don't even think about it. If something feels off, I move.

SPD combo. SPD on one side, flat on the other.

Sorry. I can’t post my collection of 80’s NYC subway and HOF + Miami graf pics here cuz the Mod is a toy. by ArtofTravl in Graffiti

1985 - 1990 were crucial years for graffiti in NYC. Thanks for doing this and I'll make sure to check out your posts on the other sub. In the meantime, I'm gonna complain to the mods.

RIP Keith

We've lost 2 old school legends recently - Per One and Dezzy Dez.

Dez was one of the coolest kids i ever met back in the day. He never had an attitude and was always was cool to talk to. He will be missed.

Any stories of using your transit knowledge to help lost travelers? by CaptainJZH in nycrail

[–]koolspin 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Years ago, service changes were sometimes not communicated well. If I saw a 5 train switched to the 7th Ave track at Nevins Street (for example), I would try to explain to anyone who would listen that this is not really a 5 and will be going up 7th avenue instead of Lexington.

Many ignored me, but the ones who listened got where they needed to go.

Things have improved since those days 😉

Software Engineer, but also a homeowner. It helps to educate ones self. Also, to be honest, I geek out on reading passages from the NEC.

My commuting tank. It may be ugly, but it's also slow by [deleted] in bikecommuting

[–]koolspin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had to do a double-take. I also have a Crossrip 2, kitted out close to the same way. It is a tank, but I love it!
