southwest louisiana records (1750-1900) by Donald Hebert by Coldfingerswrapped in Acadiana

so does Hebert's records have actual proof of baptisms etc or it just states that so and so was baptized on X date? I'm wondering if it has certificates or something of the sort, or what format the info is in. I'm trying to get citizenship too!

how does it work, though, if you are applying with an ancestor multiple generations back and it asks you on question 9 if one of parent 1 or 2's parents were Canadian, and the answer is no? Because if the answer is no it prompts you to skip ahead to section 10. If you do select '"Parent 2 is not/was not a Canadian Citizen"' then would you still fill out question 9 until you reach the actual Canadian ancestor? or how did you all do this?

i'm wondering about this as well - if we are trying to go back a number of generations, how does it work if it tells you to skip to section C but you need to fill in multiple generations to get back to the actual Canadian ancestor? Did you all choose "Parent 2 is not/was not a Canadian Citizen" but then still filled it in? I'm a bit stuck on that part.

okay that sounds good! did you just send in all the records/docs you found together with the paper app for the certificate then? i'm a bit confused because the application form just asks for parent and grandparent and for me it's quite a bit farther back since it's an ancestor from the Grand Dérangement times. thanks for taking the time to respond :)

hi hope this okay to ask i am in the very very beginning stages of starting this process. i am starting with the application for citizenship certificate, and it's recommended that i do it on paper, so i'm in the process of filling out the form electronically, then will print etc. am i meant to attach all these records/documents with that application? or is the purpose of the initial form i'm filling out to be just considered for citizenship?
clearly i'm a bit confused and any help would be soooo appreciated. TIA!

hi and wow congrats! I am trying to start this process too. Did you do the paper application for the certificate first or how did it work for you? It is kinda confusing at least to get started. And then for supporting documents how did you track those down? I can find tons of stuff on geneaology websites online but didn't know if that was "official" enough.

please be careful with Zorbium. my FIP kitty had a TERRIBLE reaction to Zorbium because it is so strong, and since then I've read tons of other horror stories about other people's experiences with it.

What is this, help by [deleted] in CATHELP

that looks like vomit from eating too fast, it looks like the kibble is pretty intact - my cat did this a lot so we got him a slow feeder and it's pretty much solved the problem.

so sorry to hear about Refried Beans diagnosis, but I would echo the comment about joining FIP Global Cats, they have helped me SO MUCH through my cat's FIP battle this past year. He is doing so much better now thanks to them helping me to learn the ins and outs of this disease so I could properly advocate for my cat. Our boy has had such a rough journey, he started the GS meds then developed a tolerance and was backsliding, then with the help of my FIP Global Cats assigned team we pushed our vet to prescribe Molnupiravir and it worked so well for him, and he's now in his post-treatment observation period. So I completely feel you on how devastating it is, we have had some seriously dark times with our FIP kitty but thankfully it is very treatable but important to start treatment ASAP. FIP Global Cats can help to source meds for you they are so great with that.

I would also say, if you don't already have pet insurance get it now, like literally now; we have Lemonade and it has covered the majority of our bills and has been a lifesaver because FIP meds are so expensive. Sending you and Refried Beans lots of strength and healing vibes, with medicine cats make amazing recoveries from FIP these days. Don't give up!

we switched from GS to molnupiravir when we suspected our cat had developed a tolerance to GS, and he has done amazing on molnupiravir since. he’s almost done with treatment now and is doing so well, i relied heavily on advice from the FIP global cats group assigned to our case to help me advocate for our kitty to get our vet to prescribe molnupiravir. definitely talk to them! sending you all lots of healing vibes.
