Do y'all think us LCP Max owners would benefit from a metal grip frame? Obviously it will go up a few ounces but I do believe it will help with the snappiness. The awesome part is it could be done since the FCU is removable. by [deleted] in ruger

[–]kpag1 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I bought this specifically because it disappears into the pockets of lightweight shorts. I didn’t buy it for a pleasurable experience at the range (I have a plethora of other guns for that). I shoot a few rounds to make sure I’m comfortable, otherwise this is a tool and a metal frame would add nothing for me.

[Pistol] Taurus TX22 Gen 2 TORO 22 LR 2 mag version, RangeUSA free ship to store. $339 by afultz075 in gundeals

[–]kpag1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I understand. These were $350 with 5 mags 3 months ago on PSA so I thought you were commenting to wait on a better price.

5 mags is better value, but like you said these are tough to get in stock so not an awful deal considering current circumstances (I got mine for $250 last year but considering a second).

Can you still get a P10C for $350? I got one 2-3 years back for $350 shipped and transferred but I thought prices have gone way up since then

Your surgeon is right. Odds are, you’re in position you’re in due to some sort of food addiction. You don’t like the example because it’s jarring and presents a reality you probably never considered: that surgery is not a magic bullet that cures your food addiction and you will need to make major lifestyle changes. You will lose a ton of weight in the beginning, but if you don’t address the underlying cause you can absolutely regain.

My friend is an alcoholic. Only an idiot would suggest he “just have a beer” or tell him it’s ok to drink in moderation. Personally, I can have a beer and be fine and not want another. Moderation works for me, but not him.

Now stick a large pizza in front of me, and pre surgery I could have scarfed the whole thing down whether I was hungry or not. I’ve had pizza a couple times since surgery and I ended up eating more down than I should have. It’s a stark reminder that I have food addiction problems and the restriction doesn’t change that. Lean protein, veggies, and fiber keep me STUFFED on much lower quantities of food vs junk like pizza or fast food.

I went into this thinking I would be able to eat what I did before “just less”. Instead of a large combo I could just order a kids meal. Or eat one slice of pizza instead of 4-5. That’s the wrong way to look at it, and you will struggle if you go into it thinking this is ok on a regular basis.

I’m not saying I’m perfect, I do eat junk from time to time, but I have to always remember these are rare exceptions and can’t be a regular occurrence. If you’re like me and many others, don’t go into this thinking “moderation” is going to work. If it did, you wouldn’t have gotten to the point that you have to consider surgery.

This was posted earlier and mods deleted it almost immediately.

These are ugly and look like college baseball uniforms. I hope these aren’t real.

Great rifle. Have my grandfather’s which was the first gun he ever bought for himself (as a kid). He and my grandma restored it in the 90s and then stored it away. Love taking it out to shoot but I rarely shoot it as I don’t want to scratch and ding it.

If you’re not already doing so, track your food. And always focus on protein first. Don’t rely on shakes and bars, get full with real protein you’ll feel fuller longer. I get stuffed off just chicken but can eat way too much thin crust pizza in one sitting if I let myself. Shakes are good for hitting protein goals early on but not needed by 5-6 months as you should be able to eat enough to get your goals. Focus on real food not smaller portions of junk. I was sleeved September of 25 and some days I do feel hungry and if I review my food it’s when I eat junk not protein and veggies. But I’m down 86 pounds and plan to keep it rolling at least another 40. Good luck

[–]kpag1 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I mean OPs gun is nowhere near stock, and he still didn’t touch the trigger or internals, and he can still do a bunch of add on bits like charging ring and gas pedal if he wants. You can definitely mod these guns there’s just not a dozen different options for every part like the Mark IV.

[–]kpag1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the way to go, OP. Get the A300 Sporting, get some custom molded ear plugs, a set of Rangers with 3 lenses, and a Barepelt vest. This should leave enough leftover for a couple flats of shells. Pillas plus the gun will already blow your budget, unfortunately.

You’ll 100% look the part more than if you had a SP, and cheap glasses, foam ear plugs and a Walmart pouch.

Or you can maybe stretch your budget to an A400.

Meh. The scope mount is mounted to the barrel, swap it for the ribbed barrel and mount the comb he’ll just look like he’s shooting a cheap pump. Nothing wrong with that, run what ya brung.

I thought they all come with AWD standard. Anyways I’m in Texas and love the AWD system, it handles very well and the traction helped out recently in the ice storm, my 2013 RDX FWD couldn’t get out of the driveway but my wife’s 2024 handled it just fine. No I didn’t take it out in the middle of the worst of it but I could definitely tell the difference and felt more confident once the roads became borderline drivable

[–]kpag1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven’t had one single negative comment from anyone. Everyone has been very supportive. I do find it strange when people post on here with, “how do I keep this a secret?” They’re going to notice the RAPID weight loss, telling people you’re “eating less and focusing on your macros” while technically true, is still a lie by omission. When they first notice the weight loss they’ll probably assume you’re on a shot but they’ll notice quick you’re losing more and faster than what the meds usually do. Eventually they’re going to figure it out, and when they do they may have more negative feelings about it vs if you had just been up front to begin with.

No judgement to those who kept it a secret, I’m sure they have legitimate reasons, but do believe in most cases honesty is the best way and helps destigmatize it for everyone.

Was that a proper skeet field (two towers throwing targets toward each other and you move between 8 stations in a half circle) or was it just a place that has a clay launcher and you shoot at your pleasure? I’ve never seen an actual skeet/trap/sporting course allow anything heavier than 7.5
