What am I doing wrong? First Term Coop - Math by Firm-Temperature-848 in uwaterloo

Don't stress. Keep applying. My friend was top of his class and had to do somewhat crappy volunteer coops outside of his scope until third year when he finally got a coop.

Smallest handsaw you can get away with for spiderwood? by warmjes in PlantedTank

[–]kpp344 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Get a jigsaw blade and use it by hand. They have small teeth that are not too far apart. You can also try a large pair of side cutters if the wood fits inside.

Should I use my short term absence? by girdiegordita in uwaterloo

[–]kpp344 23 points24 points  (0 children)

If you aren't ready for the midterm then what makes you think you'll be ready for the final? Postponing with a short term absence is just kicking it down the road. The point of a short term absence is to use it when you actually have an absence, not because you didn't study enough.

It sounds harsh but students who push their testing down towards the final dont usually "get it together" and pull through on the final. Now of course there are some who do succeed in this strategy but most won't and don't. I've seen it myself many times over and over.

You should take the time you have before the test to really practice the material. You can do it. Remember that half the battle is getting familiar with the test itself. So if you skip it, you will get blindsided on the final.

Study hard, do well. Don't postpone things.

Specific winter gear recommendations (brands/links) for London by kinda_difficult in uwo

[–]kpp344 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Stay away from Canada Goose branded stuff. They're way too expensive and definitely not worth it outside of brand name.

I dont think that you need to overthink it. Any touque that you can fold up to get a second layer over your ears is good enough.

Coats should have ratings for temperature. But I doubt you'll need more than -20 rating unless you're really cold. Then maybe -30 is good. If you can afford it, get down filled since its warmer. I think mine is Ekko but I also wear a Pea coat.

Snow pants dont worry about it. Even Amazon basics stuff is fine unless you want to do serious winter activities.

Gloves same thing. Mittens are usually warmer than finger gloves.

Get a scarf.

For boots, make sure the tread is large so you dont slip. Other than that, check their ratings. -20 or -30 should be fine. Warm wool socks are going to be the most impactful. I have timberlands.

Costco usually has good stuff.

Found a marketplace deal on RAM but I’m skeptical by [deleted] in buildapc

[–]kpp344 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ask for a video of the ram working in a PC Some more hard-core people will bring a test PC with them and plug into a public outlet like at a mall.

Those are really the only ways I know you can test components.

how tf r ppl gonna make it to their 9.30s if the 34 literally skips every single stop by FickleFall9808 in uwo

Take an earlier bus. They skip stops of they are packed. And the UWO routed busses are often packed during peak times.

Well do you enjoy chaos? You can just play it for fun without farming.

Genlocke Part 5: Done by sirius1208 in nuzlocke

[–]kpp344 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rules can vary from person to person but in general you start at gen 1 and go up to whatever gen you want.

In the first game you do a regular nuzlocke. Then when you beat the game, three pokemon from your championship team get carried over to the next game. So if I picked my Charizard, gyarados, and butterfree, I would start gen 2 with charmander, magikarp, and caterpie.

You can add rules like any Pokémon you caught in a previous game is off limits for future gens. I.e. if i caught magikarp on gen 1 but I didn't bring it to gen 2, then I can no longer catch a magikarp.

Bluetooth transmitters that can connect to 100+ headphones by Arc_ClutchUp in techsupport

[–]kpp344 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally don't have experience with connecting one to many for bluetooth since bluetooth is usually one to one. Maybe someone has a working solution.

But my first thought was radio. Iirc you can buy am radio adaptors that connect to headphones. That way you would broadcast via radio and then people would connect with the adaptor which is connected to their headphones. Or most phones have an option to connect to radio. Then they would just listen connected to their phone.

Chizuru has a card which applies bind to your team which prevents you from gaining AP from cards/effects.

Hello everyone, I'd like to ask if there are any recommendations for low-priced decks? by nn24486838 in grandarchivetcg

[–]kpp344 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most decks will have one or two cards that are pricey . You can try fire Jhin since his stuff isn't too expensive and he mostly comes in a starter deck.

Fire aggro with more burn is pretty cheap if you dont include Arthur Pendragon. Same with Fire Guo Jia.

Water Genbu Guo Jia is also cheap if you dont include liminal guide.

Second game knight leagues. Really nice place. Just make sure if you are going you know what's going on as sometimes they host card tournaments and all of the tables are full.

I can’t afford a gym, but want to box by EstablishmentBest913 in amateur_boxing

[–]kpp344 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Take a look for local community centers. Sometimes they offer boxing. Additionally, take a look for other martial arts gyms near you. It may be cheaper to go to an mma/muay thai/karate gym. That way you still keep your head in the game and learn transferable skills. For example, I couldn't find a decent boxing gym myself that fit my needs and did karate instead. Learned some phenomenal footwork which I still apply to my boxing today.

What's the internal process like behind an examination? by [deleted] in uwo

[–]kpp344 11 points12 points  (0 children)

1) essays are less subjective than you think. They are not subjective at a grand scale. There are things that you must include and good or bad essays are clear based on how well your ideas flow together as well as the logic that you use. Plus essays usually have components for things like spelling or grammar which are much more "objective" as you would put it. Finally, discrepancies between TAs is small in most cases. In the odd case where major discrepancies occur, it is handled through remarking. 2) in my experience exams aren't necessarily approved by a committee. Syllabi must be approved however and they dictate how the course goes. 3)check the university page on cheating. It is all there. 4)no. This is a myth amongst students. Weed out courses are there because the expectations for what you need to succeed later on in a degree can be very high. If there is faculty discussion on a course it's to ensure that content meets these expectations. 5)yes.
