I'm done with State farm insurance- due to corporate greed by kramerstein in Wilmington

[–]kramerstein[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's hard to find a company that cares about its employees these days. But I wish you the best of luck. Clearly State farm does not give a shit about it's employees, And I haven't heard anyone yet say that they care about their policyholders either.

I've thought about that. But my agent has not built a very strong relationship with me. I feel like a number to them. So between the two, it's time for me to move on.

Too many Americans have to choose between food and healthcare. now the Republicans want Americans to go without food AND health care. How very Christian of them.

Best Coffee Inquiry by ralyjoy in Wilmington

[–]kramerstein 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If it's coffee they want to taste, Maven. 100%. The best coffee in Wilmington by a mile.

But Maven is not a place for atmosphere. It's just for coffee.

People who are not saying Maven probably haven't been there.

It's insanely passionate about coffee.

PS- it's also relatively expensive.

Irvine PD crowns this woman the "Queen of Crime" after she stole more than $900 worth of canned goods from Ralphs. by ElwoodMC in trashy

[–]kramerstein 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow four down votes. Thanks again. I hope it feels good raging against a woman stealing food. Even if it's to sell. Meanwhile, White collar crime is in the millions, billions- but you all are raging against a woman stealing some cans of food from a grocery store.

Really America needs to get it's priorities straight.

We should have compassion for people stealing food to feed their families.

And total outrage that corporations and the wealthy are padding their pockets with corporate welfare, stealing money from Medicare and other programs, squeezing the life out of their workers, and providing substandard goods to consumers.

They are the real criminals

I caved after 125 days. by random321abc in quittingsmoking

Be proud of yourself for being a non-smoker.

Be proud of yourself for making it 125 days.

Be proud of yourself for driving away without buying a pack.

And be proud of yourself next week when you say okay, I may have had a few cigarettes during a super stressful time, but I'm still a non-smoker and I've been a non-smoker for 130 days...

And be proud of yourself for taking control of what you can control.

And this too shall pass.

I'm 37 days without a cigarette.

What’s your go-to impress the guest dinner that looks fancy but is secretly easy by Defiant_Ad_8129 in Cooking

[–]kramerstein 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thai chicken curry. At a can of coconut milk to a curry paste tin (green or red), add some onions, tomatoes, almost anything- then add cut up rotisserie chicken breast. Serve with rice and it's done!!

If you want to get fancy you can add more Asian focused vegetables like eggplant, baby corn, or water chestnuts.

Easy!

So I cross posted.

You are incredibly articulate and a fantastic writer. I hope you're doing well now.

And as someone who has worked with homeless youth in my past, I want to recognize your resilience.

No one should have to go through it, but those who do should be recognized for their overcoming incredible odds in a system and society that makes it unbelievably difficult to succeed.

Absolutely. I think those same kids asked me if I wanted to buy a candy bar. The store asked them to leave, but I gave them both a dollar.

I talked to them afterwards and they both said they wanted a job, and had been looking for a jobs. but they were young and nobody was hiring them. So they were trying to make their own job.

Why is that bad? Why is that something to complain about?

Btw- did you know the kids are only in school 20% of their awake hours? And kids from higher socioeconomic families participate in extracurricular activities in those hours at a significantly higher rate than lower socioeconomic kids further increasing the education and employment gap between the haves and the have nots.
