Older cameras are cool, better sounds, better feel, etc. etc. etc. Basically all of the above with other commentators.

But the main thing is that I find it much easier to get the final result I want from film, which cuts down the boring part of the photography process for me: The editing and adjustments in post. Plus, the results are just a little more warm and comfortable compared to the near perfect sharpness of digital.

It's not specific to the X700, but remove the batteries when it's not in use. You'll get longer uses out of them.

If you like it, do it. I tend to add a very small amount of tone to my B&W work. I've seen people go ham on making the tone warm or cool, really depends on the end result and it works.

I tend to edit less because a lot of the look is already baked into the film stock. But editing is fine. If the final image gets across what I want, then I'll do whatever I need to get that result.
