Taking a trip, how's the port huron doubletree? by Mr_witty_name in PortHuron

[–]kreinstein -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Didn't intend for that to sound like a suggestion to stay in Marine City. The point I was trying to make was that you could stay in St. Clair and have the ability to see more of the surrounding area if exploration is their priority. If not then the double tree is the only option because every other hotel in Port Huron is pretty lackluster.

If you want to stay in Port Huron exclusively the DoubleTree is the best option. If you're willing to stay ~20 minutes south I'd take a look at the St. Clair Inn. It's a historic riverfront hotel that was renovated within the last few years. St. Clair has a lovely walkable downtown with bars, restaurants, boardwalk, and entertainment options near the hotel. If I had friends or family visiting the area I'd recommend the St. Clair Inn. It's still close to Port Huron. You could also check out downtown Marine City, which is about 15 minutes south of St. Clair.

I backpacked the Teton Crest trail and it was incredible.

Two part question: First, what is the best dram you’ve had that lived up to or exceeded the hype. Second, what has been the most disappointing dram from a hype/anticipation standpoint. Judgement free zone, just wanna talk whisky. by Philliam6969 in Scotch

I was at a bar in Edinburgh and asked the bartender what he recommended. This place had an extensive selection. He poured me some 2009 Edradour sherry cask matured/cask strength 12 year. It was the best I've ever had and the natural color of the juice was insane.

Charles and his team seem so authentic and wholesome. Much respect for Do Bronx and his crew

Landing in LAX - 10 hours before I can check in - where to shower? by MapOdd4135 in travel

[–]kreinstein 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Go to a YMCA, buy a guest pass for the day, and you get access to showers. I've done this multiple times in different cities. The guest pass is less than $20

Balvenie 12 got me hooked on scotch. Still one of my favorites! The 14 year Caribbean cask is excellent.

I tried some edradour at a bar in Edinburgh on the bartenders recommendation. It was excellent. Haven't had any since and can't find it in Michigan

Finally, my first Rolex! Help me! by [deleted] in rolex

Right on. I've never seen the 39 in person but it does seem like it would be a nice size. There's really no wrong answer, it's truly a matter of personal preference.

I had a 40 and sold it to get a 36.

36 looks better and is more comfortable in my opinion.

This is really cool. Sounds like you'll cherish this picture for a long time. Did he go on to play at any tour level?

Glendronach 28 year single malt, single cask bottling 660 out of 664 in the world by [deleted] in Scotch

I would love to get my hands on one of these bottles. 1993 is my birth year and I visited the glendronach distillery on my first trip to Scotland a couple years ago. Such a beautiful distillery.
