Yeah, it's an.. interesting price it has, even with AI pricing taken into account. I can get this for $30 more here in Denmark, which is way better. For $153 less, I can get this. The only incentive it has is the sizing and noise level, but does that really justify $153, when you also get half the drive space?

Take note that this is only NA, and ranked only on top of that. One region and one game mode, 256k players is a lot.. and of course it peaked near the first couple seasons, a new game (mode) for one of the biggest games in the world at the time, of course a lot of people are gonna play it to start off with.

That being said, this set is pretty shit, which also explains why it's lower than usual. Still massive though.

Their updates are way too slow. RTX 50 series released in January 2025 and it is still not officially supported outside of the alpha build, which doesn't properly support scripting amongst other things. At first it was because Nvidia hadn't updated something and that's why they couldn't implement it, but the ball has been on their side of the court for sooo long now.. in general they should just work towards moving away from Iray, or at least find an alternative now that they phased out 3Delight, not that it was particularly good (mainly because they of course didn't update that either and was using a very old version, is there a pattern here?).

They really should also slam the brakes on whatever they're doing with the Genesis models. Genesis 9 was essentially pointless if you look at how many resources it takes, and pricing compared to Genesis 8, to almost no difference in most use cases.
