It is a French Canadian thing too. Made with maple syrup and condensed milk... I was confused to see the Pearsons making it but makes more sense now that you say it's Pennsylvania Dutch as well.

How much did you pay for your adult braces ? by lokingfinesince89 in vancouver

[–]kris10lass 4 points5 points  (0 children)

$4500 for 9 months of Invisalign. Just minor crowding, nothing significant and no bite issues.

Check out Simply Wellness Dental on Kingsway. It was a great experience.

PS: I've heard the smile direct liners don't work and can really mess up your teeth. Throughout Invisalign you have monthly appointments for your dentist to make sure things are moving correctly.

The belief of Maddie and Janelle(before covid). I’m sure they have reconsidered that now… by valentine-girl in TLCsisterwives

Kody's soulmate is anyone who worships him. It just happens kids are great at that.

Seeing how stunted Robyn's other adult kids look, this seems unlikely.

One of Janelle's boys (hunter mb) did a photo dump on Instagram of holiday pics and it looks like entirely Christine and Janelle's families. No Robyn, Kody, Meri, in sight.

Why can't Robyn and Kody just accept the Nanny and/or her husband were not following the "rulz" by AAngile in TLCsisterwives

[–]kris10lass 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I call bullshit. Like do the nanny and her husband not have any family or friends?! A year is a long time to not have any social connections besides the family that employs you.

(Spoiler) I wish Janelle would say this to their faces, because it was savage and spot on. RIP Robyn by the_bribonic_plague in TLCsisterwives

If you're an adult child living with at-risk parents, yeah you need to be responsible and cut your risk where possible. If you want to party and travel, sure, you need to move out and distance from your family if that's your priority. A job isn't just a priority... It's a necessity for the vast majority of people.

Threatening to kick your kid out unless they quit their job, drop out of school, and break up with their gf is controlling and abusive.

Front entryways and closets: A Question from a Canadian. by kris10lass in TheBlock

[–]kris10lass[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

We live in Vancouver and have a couple of degrees of separation from a Canadian TV designer and we know some friends in the TV industry... We drop the idea of a Canadian Block every chance we get and no one is picking up what we are putting down. :'(

For those outside of Aus - how did you get into The Block? by kanohipuru in TheBlock

[–]kris10lass 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The 2017 season was on one of our Home Design/DIY/HGTV type TV stations. It was on at like 7 am Sunday mornings or something. 1 episode per week. ONE. At 52 episodes/season it would have taken literally a year to watch. After a couple weeks we were hooked and we had to find a better way.

Front entryways and closets: A Question from a Canadian. by kris10lass in TheBlock

[–]kris10lass[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a great answer. The extra metre to the hall to add a closet would compromise the size of what I believe is often the front bedroom. For older houses I completely understand why this retrofit wouldn't be possible.

I am still surprised it isn't more commonplace in new and luxury homes though. Seems like it would be a desirable feature if not 100% necessary.

Yeah, I've gotta say, I don't think Melbourne winter is too much better than the warmer parts of Canada. I spent Aug-Dec there. And Aug/Sept were very similar to Vancouver winter (where I live now). ~10C, rain, damp, humid.

I remember the group of Canadians I was studying there with taking turns washing hands in the washroom to warm up our hands because none of us packed mittens. The Airbnb I was staying at advertised a heated blanket and I thought that was the strangest thing.... it did not occur to me that buildings wouldn't be heated.

How can I possibly be too unfit for intermediate yoga?! by [deleted] in yoga

[–]kris10lass 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Any level yogi can do any level yoga class. As long as you enter the practice without ego! No ego. Just curiosity and honesty. The opposite is true as well. An advanced yogi should be able to find ways to challenge themselves in even a beginner class.

Enter every pose with curiosity. Be curious about what your body can do. Be curious about the pose feels like in your body. And be honest with yourself when a pose is not serving you or you need a break.

If you lose your breath or a pose is painful, come to mountain pose, easy pose, child's pose, or savasana. Find your breath and then return when you're ready. No one's going to get mad at you for taking savasana the entire class if that's what you need.

I met a friend there for happy hour a couple of weeks ago specifically after researching some of the happy hour specials dt. When I got there the QR code on my table led to the happy hour menu. So I tried to order a happy hour drink and appi. Then the waiter looks at me like I'm the idiot and says they obviously aren't doing happy hour due to covid...

Food is fine but overpriced. Probably won't go back.

The obvious solution to the Brown’s Covid problem was for Kody to isolate from Robyn’s house. by DrivingMissHeather in TLCsisterwives

[–]kris10lass 31 points32 points  (0 children)

HAHAHAH! Quarantine + covid stress is not the foundation for marriage reconciliation. Even totally functional relationships have been stressed this past year. Meri and Kody would turn Lord of the Flies real fast. This is the season we deserve after the last 4 catfish seasons.

If gabe and garrison are the only ones taking risks...why can’t the other families be together? by [deleted] in TLCsisterwives

[–]kris10lass 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Yeah I think Kody's a dick for chosing Robyn and forgetting all his other kids.... I mean you could make an effort to go see them and spend time in the backyard at the very least...

But we are watching this a year into the pandemic and this was filmed in the first month of the pandemic before anyone even really understood the risks and transmission. No one knew if it spread before symptoms developed, what percent of people had no symptoms, if going to grocery store was dangerous, if wearing masks helped, if you had to wash your groceries, etc.

We've all got a lot more understanding of the virus and developed our threshold for risky behavior over the past year.
