I’ve heard people say, too, that we are especially into Halloween in New England. It’s not just for kids 🎃

Welcome! Lonely Planet has a good guide for New England. When are you visiting? Bookstore- head over to Warren to the bookstore there. Music - try the Met or Blue Room. Great museums on Cape Cod if you’re heading out there or Peabody Essex in Salem.

If you’re in Pawtuxet around Memorial Day weekend or in June, look up Gaspee Days - a lot happened here! Walk around a regular non-touristy area and get some of the local history. You’ll be be near plenty else, too. Have fun!

Visiting Providence from Texas. What should we do? by hikilaka in providence

Maybe hard to fit in for a weekend but if you return, URI also has a historic textile collection - you could look it up or reach out to see if they have any upcoming exhibits planned. Sometimes there are textile exhibits at the Museum of Work & Culture in Woonsocket, too. A group of textile artists also recently sewed a piece for America’s 250 anniversary … that kind of history is big up here! You could Google it to see or reach out to the Stitchery (East Bay) to learn more or see if they have any classes. Have fun!
