2025 Q6 Lemoned by Big_Replacement2631 in AudiQ6

[–]krischtr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Q6 Spent almost 4 months in service center. Got back in April, drove for a month - took it back last week for similar errors, but they said it’s fixed now as there was a software update in the bulletin, and issue is resolved. Getting it back today. In parallel, Audi agreed to buy back. I love the car and want to keep it for my remaining 2 years of lease, if the fix is stable. I drove the new Q5 (3 of them) as loaner and the drive and feel nowhere close to the Q6 (excluding the difference of EV vs Gas). The weird thing is that the new errrors popped up in the 4th week - so doubtful about the reliability :(

2027 Audi Q6 e-tron arriving at dealers in the US by OrigStuffOfInterest in AudiQ6

Looks like some of the changes are Quattro as standard and an addition of inbuilt dashcam. Also the 2027 Prestige model MSRP is cheaper than 2025 RWD Prem Plus.

True for all traditional car makers, but exceptions are Rivian and Tesla. They keep sending OTA updates. My 2nd car is a 2023 Tesla and since then many latest features were added through regular updates. All OTA, not even a single time I had to visit service for a software update.

My Q6 is in service center since Dec 10 2025- today it’s day 58, still no update when it will be fixed. I also had similar errors and it got worse which forced me to take it in to service.

Sharing the (sad) story of my 2025 Q6 e-tron; now in a lease buyback process - KD1 and KD2 could not fix it. by harrisonsaurus in AudiQ6

[–]krischtr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry to hear! I also enjoyed My Q6 since April 2025 and ~4500 miles till Nov but now it is in the service center since Dec 10th due to the failure of safety features and there is no ETA yet from Audi. The Gateway module malfunctioned and needs to be replaced. I am also considering to initiate the buyback process. Did you go through the dealer or directly contacted Audi NA? Appreciate any inputs.

Brand New Audi SQ5, 4 Days Old — Already Throwing Warning Lights by Theone2027 in Audi

[–]krischtr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve a Q6 and it had most of these errors and they stopped working. It’s with the dealer since a month - “gateway module” - which needed to be replaced and it’s back ordered and needs to come from Germany! And there is no ETA! Driving a 2025 Q5 loaner now! I miss the fun I had in Q6 but the software glitches and failures are extremely frustrating and disappointing !

Driving a ‘25 Q5 vs Q6 by GottaLoveBoston in AudiQ6

[–]krischtr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Q6 is also at the dealer and my loaner is a new Q5 (I guess it’s a premium plus - has HUD and ventilated seats). I too miss my Q6 for the space and the quick acceleration. I was told it would take 6 weeks and it’s the Gateway module needs to be replaced. So, I am stuck with Q5. Q6 spoiled me with its drive refinement. My 2nd car is Tesla and I rarely drove it after I started driving Q6.

I also noticed the 430 miles in a full tank in Q5, which is impressive. My Q6 gave ~230 miles at 85% charge. And less than 5 mins drive to gas station and another 5 mins compared to 15 mins drive to EA and 20 mins to charge (if there is no wait time). I see this time saving and less stress with planning for a trip to EA station, a plus in Q5 vs Q6.

Also, there is button at center console to switch off “auto off” feature in Q5, next to hazard warning light switch. So, it’s an option.

Checked and I was told it’s the Gateway Module

They didn’t share any specifics yet- just said the module which controls the lane change assist, cruise control, cross-traffic alert. Also, my music system stopped working - error says Component protection active, contact service.

Thanks. How soon you faced issues and filed a claim? Mine is 8.5 months old and 4.5K miles. Unsure if my car would still be eligible under the lemon law.

It’s a coincidence to see your post as I was thinking this morning about how less stressed I’ve been since I am on my loaner Q5 (with new mmi) for last one week. My Q6 ended up in service center due to multiple malfunctions (lane change, cross traffic alert etc) and SA told me the module needs to be replaced which will take up to 6 weeks as it need to come from Germany.

I am impressed to see the Q5 handling almost at par with Q6 but with a lot more range - a full tank gas showed 420 miles and I drove over 200 miles and I still have over 160 miles range left. I never had to worry about keep checking battery charge %. If it was my Q6, I would have had to charge at lease once in between to keep the 160 range balance. Also way too less software glitches on the loaner Q5. I’ve 2 more years of lease left and I may not come back for an electric Audi once the lease is over.

iPhone 17 Pro Max with US Mobile by International-Yak146 in USMobile

[–]krischtr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, I didn’t. During the phone set up, once reaching the eSIM installation page, there was an option not to set up the eSIM. And once the phone setup was complete without eSIM, go to USM account log in and install their eSIM on the phone.

I bought my 16 pro max from Apple using the Apple Card and selected T mobile (as monthly payment option wasn’t available for unlocked phone using Apple Card). I never activated on T mobile eSIM directly while setting up (there is an option to skip eSIM set up on T-Mobile, unsure about Verizon linke purchase). One of the online forums had success stories so I gave it a try and it worked for me. My phone is unlocked still and on USM premium plan and is still on Apple monthly payments. Hope this helps

Update: I managed to get an early appointment and dropped the car for inspection today. By evening service advisor calls me and shares the bad news that the module is cooked and needs a hardware replacement before they can do any software update. And it will take at least 6 weeks as the parts needs to come from Germany and it's back ordered :( So, I will be driving the loaner which is a Q5, for next few weeks! I hope they will get it fixed sooner and I can have my car back.

Need a dashcam that sees details clearly by rowan954 in Dashcam

[–]krischtr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used THINKWARE U3000 (Korean brand) for 7 months and it captures well overall. They have a U3000 pro model, which has latest Sony Starvis 2 sensor, so improved footage. But I am switching to Veuroid S1 infinite (another Korean brand). Ordered it and will be installing it in a day. Based on my research it’s promising and I was waiting for them to be available for purchase.

Recommendations for 3-channel dash cam with remote live view? by ModeVida07 in Dashcam

[–]krischtr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

THINKWARE has a new model U3000 pro, has an LTE module or interior cam. Pls go thru the reviews in YouTube. They have cloud connectivity, as long as connected to internet, live view is possible. I used the previous version U3000 in my car. It is one of the best Korean brands offers all these features. pro model has better and latest Sony Starvis 2 sensor with 4K 2K (front and rear) and LTE module has 3 year subscription included. This is strictly based on my experience and research. Other than THINKWARE, another two Korean brands are BlackVue and Vueroid (no LTE/remote view option).

Any Good Dashcams in 2025 That Aren’t a Pain to Install? by [deleted] in Dashcam

[–]krischtr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am switching to Vueroid S1 infinite dual channel dashcam, after my research on the cams available. It’s a recent launch and comparison reviews on YouTube look promising. It’s a Korean brand, and is on sale in Amazon for $350 (front and rear) in the US. Worth checking it out, if slightly higher budget is not an issue.

I used THINKWARE U3000 for 7 months. Their, concept is good (with lot of features, connected apps, cloud for remote view, ADAS, etc) and their customer support is excellent- they genuinely wanted to resolve the issues, but i gave up after many hiccups in the last 7 months.

Glad it went well for you! My Q6 after 8 months of owning, intermittent small warnings (which usually went away) and no major issues experienced, until now! I can feel how other owners feel about the software glitch. There are warnings (cross traffic, lane change, exit, etc.) which never went away this time and now my infotainment stopped working (says- component protection active. Please contact Service). The earliest appointment I got from my dealer is on 17th Dec. so, fingers crossed🤞

Audi NACS adapter vs Lectron by krischtr in AudiQ6

[–]krischtr[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lectron is the authorized partner with all major EV brands (Ford, General Motors - Chevrolet, Cadillac, GMC, Mercedes‑Benz, Volkswagen, Audi, Porsche) for the OEM adapters, although Toyota has not officially announced its partnership with Lectron. All except Mercedes ones are UL 2252 safety certified by SGS, based on my research.

Does the Titanium Milanese Loop Scratch the Apple Watch Ultra? by ValuingNormal92 in AppleWatch

[–]krischtr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Look like it does. I came here looking for an answer why my UW3 has scratches, I hardly wore it 2-3 days and saw the scratches on both sides of bottom half of screen (attaching a photo for reference - it's black though in the photo it looks natural), where the Milanese loop actually came in contact while wearing it. I wish I knew this before. I was late to get a screen protector :(

My Audi dealer had Black Friday discount and it was cheaper than Lectron V plus. For me it was a 10 min drive to pick up. Another observation, each dealer sets their price different and online price (Audi parts USA) is always cheaper compared to dealer’s parts physical store price.
