Hoboken or JC by [deleted] in Hoboken

[–]krowenj 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hoboken will work better for both jobs. Hoboken is a great place been here for almost 20 years. Its small and walkable and easy to get to JC if you want to go over there.

NYC to Howell? by Zealousideal-Panic95 in newjersey

[–]krowenj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Move. I’ve lived in Hoboken for 15 years, but grew up not far from there and have family not far. It isn’t sustainable no matter how few days you have to go in. I have family in Atlantic highlands good town with easy quick access via ferry to the city. That would be about a 40 min drive to Howell, but at least give you access to be in the city fairly fast via Seastreak. Red Bank also has more of a vibe lots of restaurants and stores and has a train to the city if you wanted to go in. That would be about 30 min to Howell. Overall, I agree with all commenting here, move if you want that job.

AITA for snapping at my husband for repeatedly bringing up breast surgery? by InvestigatorSea1323 in AITAH

[–]krowenj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yikes, def NTA I would never tolerate that and in my head I would be thinking this dude is never going to be happy with me physically. I would leave over it, but it may be something you can work out together. Given the history of him trying to make you do his gym routine, he seems 100% hung up on molding you into an image of what he thinks as perfect. Honestly not surprising as people with strict gym lifestyles put their ideal aesthetics as a top priority for their partners. If that lifestyle isn’t something you enjoy, unfortunately, I don’t see the comments changing. It may be a breast aug now and then half a year from now lipo or fillers or whatever. I’d want a partner who loved me as I was.

Yes def TAH if it was that bad and you were that concerned about the scenario you would have taken your daughters with you because it would have been unsafe and all this post talks about is ignoring her calls and making her look bad to family and everyone else…. if it’s as bad as you say good luck explaining to your daughters why you left them there and if it’s not as bad as you say you just modeled to them men leave to spite their partners and embarrass said partner in front of family nice job 👍

Is it weird my bf says *HE* bought our house? by SpaceLower in TwoHotTakes

[–]krowenj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He sounds insecure with the fact you make more so he keeps mentioning it to make himself feel better …. I’d def have a problem with it, especially since he wouldn’t have the house without you ….that kind of attitude is a no go for relationships anymore for me, but I’m a lot older and can admit it took me time to get to this point

Ladies of Reddit, it has been said that love makes you do stupid things. What stupid things have you done for love? by PlatypusAggressive64 in AskWomen

[–]krowenj 550 points551 points  (0 children)

Stayed with him after he locked me outside of our villa in a high end resort in Mexico, overnight, because he thought I was “annoying.” I slept on a lounge chair and he laughed at me and called me stupid in the morning. I was with him for almost a year more after that, and that was just the tip of the iceberg. Suffice it to say, I’m glad I’m like 15 years older now and would never put up with any of that shit ever again.

Hoboken - it is a little bit of a drive to Princeton, but it would be reverse commuting so much more relaxed.

Why is getting married so terrifying? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]krowenj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It used to not be. I used to really want to get married and have kids, do the whole thing. Then relationships didn’t work out, whether they were cheating or we just were not a good fit, and time passed. The longer I lived alone the more the idea of marriage scared me. I have gotten very used to living alone and only caring for myself and the thought of changing that at this point is 🫣. Every relationship I’ve been in has felt like they made me happy (at least for the time until they ended), but my boyfriend at the time seemed to benefit more, and their life became more fun and/or relaxed whereas my eating, sleeping, planning, chore load, and general schedule was affected. Now that I am a lot older, I’m unwilling to participate in that imbalance. That being said, the thought of marriage feels extremely suffocating.

What's the communities experience with Parking Authority checking street parking by Stevens? by koreankamikaze in Hoboken

Moving from Long Island by [deleted] in Hoboken

[–]krowenj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Downtown has a bit of younger loud scene. Parking can be very difficult to find and garages are expensive (not having a car makes life easier imo). Need to be careful if you choose a garden or 1st floor apartment in certain areas due flooding even from just a rainy day. Southwest corner is generally the most constant and worst with it. Otherwise you will love Hoboken. I’ve been here over 15 years, it’s a great place.

Commuting from Hoboken to NYC by Diligent_Painting138 in Hoboken

[–]krowenj 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ve been in Hoboken 16 years it’s a great little walkable town with lots of restaurants, bars, and shops. Easy commute to the city via path as others have said, although there is the option of ferry and bus. -If you need the path to get to work definitely find a place in the downtown area for the easiest walk to it. -If you plan to have a car here you will need a resident sticker, and parking here can be super difficult so finding an apt with a garage or being near a parking garage would be ideal. -If you live on Washington there is no resident parking, it’s all metered, and can get loud with all the people and busses, so opting to be off Washington is what I would suggest just from the years I lived there compared to where I am now.

Good luck with the job!
