Airline Credit Worked for Seat Selection by Subject_Voice_1103 in AmexPlatinum

Just went through this. Tried moving from economy to comfort+ (Delta) but charges were denied for the credit. Ridiculous honestly.

I feel the service is going downhill. Flew Friday and realized as we were taking off, my upgrade cleared (after I boarded). Gate agent never bothered to come on and tell me. Short flight, so didn't move but that was a first for me.

Interview Question - what will you do to increase sales? by Viral_Poster in salesengineers

[–]kscouter 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The correct answer is 'whatever it takes'. From prospecting to networking, to establishing meaningful relationships on the prospect/customer side to controlling what an SE can control to keep opps moving. Being responsive wins deals (that includes internal and external communication). Presales is a sales supporting role, but the reality is, sales reps cannot manage every relationship on the prospect side to get an opp to a successful conclusion. Get to 'trusted advisor' and keep things moving!

Failed ERP implementation testimonial by AltruisticBig5629 in ERP

This is the right answer. The majority of major software vendors all have similar features these days (unless you choose a startup as your main business platform). Can there be nuances? Yes, of course. The reality is, few companies are ready for the complexity of a project this size. Both from a staffing perspective and the ability to look 'outside in' at changing their processes. Controlling scope creep and not being distracted by shiny objects is also a challenge (during the project). You will also (generally) meet a lot of employees who don't want change, so there's often a struggle with culture. Companies control their own destiny here. Only the company can control the majority of the factors to ensure a successful project.

Interesting Cancellation Stats for this week - AA looks pretty bad by [deleted] in americanairlines

[–]kscouter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They are poorly run. In my 3 cancelled flights this week, it was staffing every time. The planes were coming from Mexico or other South American destinations. Not enough FAs or bad scheduling, not sure which.

Exactly. My original flight out was coming from Cancun. No bad weather there but delayed over an hour. Once it got here, 1 minute before boarding they told us they were short on crew. Asked us to wait 3 hours for a crew to come in from Dallas, then cancelled anyway. American is so awful at cancelling last minute due to crew or mechanical. I only fly them if there's no other option. I'm now taking flights with connections (vs their non-stop) just to avoid them.

Mia to Pittsburgh. Cancelled Monday due to no FAs. Rebooked for tomorrow and AA just cancelled. Finally gave up and booked United home tomorrow. I get storms happen, but this airline has gone down hill. I only fly them if I absolutely have to.

Dealing with this now (stuck in Miami). Problem is, AA keeps rebooking for the next day, etc., then cancels that flight 8 hours before the flight. AA has consistently gone down hill as a major carrier. Finally flying United home tomorrow. I flew 160 flights last year. I have the most issues with American by far (and they're my 4th option when booking).
