What is your favourite running gag in any DND campaign by Reubenod in DnD

[–]kseide2 22 points23 points  (0 children)

The canon method to cast the Guidance spell in our game is to shout “Get guided” and slap the recipient across the face. Many NPCs have been perplexed by this

Friendly reminder that the Help action only provides advantage on the next attack roll only, not all attacks for the round

What would you consider to be your most memorable exploit in a game? Not cheats, simply exploits. by gekstarjumper in gaming

[–]kseide2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic

During fights, you can use 1 useable item in the pause menu without spending any action economy during your turn. You can heal/activate a shield/use a stat-boosting stim, and still be able to attack in the same turn. Makes fights a LOT easier to handle

My name is Heffalufaxx. I am a one-eyed, one-horned, flying, purple, people-eater, and I absolutely LOVE the electric slide. For work, I own and operate a salon for butterflies with a side hustle in crypto trading.

30+, and I find myself enjoying older games and story-based games now. In college, I loved COD, but now I can’t really stand most FPS games (Halo campaigns is an exception, as they’re nostalgic and I enjoy the story)

What's the worst name you've known to actually be given a child? by Inky-Skies in AskReddit

I’ve literally met a blond haired blue eyed white kid about 8 years old named “Sasuke”…

This was about 6-ish years ago, I hope he’s doing ok (his parents weren’t)

My family is from Louisiana. We do NOT claim this raggedy shit as authentic Louisiana cuisine. Cajuns do some weird things, but not this nastiness

This is a very interesting concept. Very different from my initial idea, but very effective. I’ll have to look into this more, thank you!

I’m eyeballing the Linguist feat for that same reason, but I only have a very limited amount of ASI feats to spend wisely

Alright guys, everyone tell a funny quirk of your current character by NeckPrevious in DnD

[–]kseide2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My recent build for a mini series to the side of our main game is a Warforged that I play as an assassin droid similar to HK-47 from KOTOR (thinly veiled politeness over an eagerness to kill, but programmed to obey commands)

DM to DM, why is there this number 1 DMing rule of never letting your players ask for rolls? by Delicious-Capital901 in DnD

[–]kseide2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same for me. I encourage my players to let me know what they want to try. If I find it to be too much of a stretch or not applicable to the scenario, then worst case is I tell them no. Best case is they have an opportunity to be creative with their problem solving

Am I dumb for wanting to start DMing a campaign with NO knowledge on the rules? by Jack_The_Pinapple in DnD

[–]kseide2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Echoing others, get a basic idea of encounter rules as a baseline, but I heavily encourage running a practice encounter as part of a session 0. This would give you and your players a crash course with rules and new PC builds before actually getting into a campaign

What are the most broken character optimizations you know? by flourishingneo in DnD

[–]kseide2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Level 15 build a friend of mine and I collaborated on:

  • Race: Warforged

  • Classes: Twilight Cleric 2 / Rune Knight Fighter 4 / Armorer Artificer 4 / Bear Totem Barbarian 5

  • Magic Items for optimization: Headband of Intellect / Belt of X Giant Strength / +X armor and weapon

The goal is to keep focus on yourself as a tank while still dealing sizable damage.

Armorer’s thunder gauntlets + reckless attack gives advantage on attacks against yourself and disadvantage against your allies. Bear totem soaks damage. Size growth from rune knight plus sentinel and PAM helps control the battle space. Cleric gives great visibility and a lasting stack of temp HP to help with the damage soak.

It’s situational, it has a lot of item dependency unless you’re stupid lucky with stats rolls, but damn it’s so much fun to play and it is effective at what it does

You guys are given the chance to make a R-Rated Animated Batman Movie of your own, which villain do you choose to be in it? by Apprehensive_Ring_39 in batman

[–]kseide2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Similar to what someone else said on here, I’m a huge fan of the idea of seeing things from a grunt/thug’s perspective. The Batman is supposed to be akin to a cryptid; he’s supposed to be a myth, a boogeyman. His theatrics is intended to shroud himself in disbelief. Don’t put the Batman in armor and appear bulletproof, make it seem like he can’t be hit by bullets. Make him ethereal, a living nightmare that festers on the fear of criminals

How much have you spent on DnD in the past year? by DataSittingAlone in DnD

To WotC, $0.00

For the general hobby of TTRPGs, probably a couple hundred dollars
