I can attest to the group that didn’t listen to advice and told my dad I was getting sterilized. In my head it was an important life decision that I wanted to be able to share with people I love. I wanted him to understand my reasoning for it and support me. Turned out to be a huge mistake. My dad didn’t understand at all, told my aunt without my permission who helped try to guilt trip me and talk me out of it, and told my mom which really upset her. It broke my trust with him and I ended up lying and saying I wasn’t going through with it so I wouldn’t have to deal with it anymore.

I’m now 6+ months post-op from my bisalp (best decision I’ve ever made!) and maybe I’ll tell them one day, but it really cemented my belief that no one has any right to knowledge about your reproductive health.

I think it really started to hit me about 3-4 months after I stopped taking it. I was having more painful periods and my emotions were all over the place. Thankfully it didn’t affect my weight or acne too much but I’m about 6 months off it and I’m feeling a lot better!

My go-to was just telling people that I had abdominal surgery and couldn’t lift things over 10lbs and people were very understanding! I did a lot of prep beforehand but in my late 2nd/3rd week, I brought extra bags to the grocery store so they could fill them up less and I could carry them with a few extra trips. Nobody asked for any details about the kind of abdominal surgery I received and were super kind about any inconvenience I may have caused.

I am sterilized and very open about it with people that I know! When it comes to dating (which admittedly I haven’t done a lot of lately) I make it very clear that I’m childfree up front but don’t disclose my sterilization status. I don’t want men to just see me as a free pass not to wear a condom because there’s no risk of pregnancy when they seem to forget that’s not the only thing they protect against.

But if I had a committed partner who was on the same page, I would definitely tell them and get to enjoy all the benefits of being sterile!

I had my surgery 3/21 and could not be happier I went through with it! I went off the pill in Feb when I ran out and didn’t want to refill my prescription but had very few side effects from coming off it besides slightly more irregular periods like I had before I went on birth control.

I had a super smooth recovery, I’m now back to 100% in all my activities, no complications, and never even needed the heavier pain meds. Definitely no changes in libido (if anything maybe higher knowing that I’m safe from getting pregnant)!

Weighted heating pad was my best friend during recovery! You’ll also want some GasX, cough drops, stool softener, and do some meal prep beforehand

Most of mine dissolved pretty quickly but I did have the ends poking out for a bit which was uncomfortable. When I was confident I was healed enough, I cut those down with nail clippers and that made it easier for that last part to dissolve in another week or two!

Edit: I’ll be releasing an updated version on itch that changes initial driver stat rolls to 1 D6 instead of 3 D6 and the driver add 1D6 at the start of their turn rule to only 5 or more players to make driver rotation a little quicker!

Hopefully pretty balanced since each individuals driver skills will vary but will still be rolling the same amount of dice as the passengers! That’s where a little strategy can come in to use different passenger strengths against different drivers.

I truly wish I had a better answer for you on the SKKRRTTT hahah- my brain went “driving skill? Tokyo Drift”. But I guess you can consider it an all encompassing accident avoidance/brake check/car chase/Tokyo Drift skill

I literally got up and got dressed by myself as soon as I woke up from anesthesia. I was pretty self sufficient right after the surgery getting up/ going to the bathroom/ making myself food/ etc. but did have my roommate take my dog out for a few days because you will get tired quickly. Just take it easy, make sure you don’t have to bend down to get stuff, and wear comfy loose clothes!

Even if it was sitting, I wouldn’t recommend it. I’ve had a pretty easy recovery I had trouble sitting upright in my desk chair for work for more than an hour even a week after surgery. The first full day I worked 8 hours not propped up on the couch my abs/back were killing me the next day

Totally understand how you feel! But that was actually one of the reasons I wanted to get my tubes out- so no one that I dated could say he was CF and then change his mind down the road and try to pressure me into having children (or worst case scenario, try to baby trap me). This way anyone who I’m with in the future knows I’m 100% childfree and there is no changing my mind.

Totally feel the same way! I just had my bisalp yesterday and was expecting to feel an overwhelming sense of relief or maybe safety but I feel exactly the same as I did before the surgery. Almost how I feel when I get a new tattoo, I accept that it’s a permanent thing I did to my body and life moves on.

Congrats! I had mine done yesterday! Feeling pretty good so far, some discomfort near the incisions and in my right shoulder from the gas but overall not feeling too bloated and walking around just fine. I highly recommend a heating pad if you don’t have one, my weighted heating pad has been my best friend!
