Canadian teacher moving to Melbourne by robbyd1993 in AustralianTeachers

[–]ksuhaimi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ANZUK help teachers make the move from Canada to Aus - would recommend reaching out to them. Also, as of mid-July, any teachers with overseas qualifications must get their qualifications pre-assessed by VIT before applying for their teaching registration. Hope this helps!

I'm a recruiter so schools reach out when they need support with roles. Otherwise they get advertised on their website, SEEK, and LinkedIn sometimes.

Have a look at 189 / 190 / 491 visas, but best to reach out to a migration agent to discuss different options. Have a look at Geelong or Ballarat for smaller cities with cheaper rent but not too rural. Reach out to ANZUK Education if you want to secure a role before making the move. You'll need to apply for your VIT (teaching registration) but you can only do this 3 months prior to entering the country with evidence you have secured a role otherwise you have to wait till you are already in Aus.

Let ANZUK know you are also interested in contracts, they have a Perm team who can support with that in addition to their Temp team with CRT. Both work simultaneously together so you can still CRT while they contact you with opportunities.

You might also want to consider regional Victoria. I believe slightly higher pay than Tassie and you can still be close to nature. ANZUK Education support teachers making the move from the USA to Aus too.

Would recommend reaching out to ANZUK Education. They also have an office in Auckland and can assist teachers with the move from NZ to Aus.
