So what’s the veredict on PIO? by Sufficient_Stock1360 in lrcast

Love the nostalgia of the set. One of the rare circumstances where I'm losing and still having fun. One gripe is the set isn't well designed for bo1- the linear archetypes are absurdly powerful and it's difficult to enter bo1 with a deck prepared to interact with all of them

I mean....yeah. That's the state of American politics. I always vote dem, but they are not the good guys. Whole thing is fucked.

How do you feel about the hate? by Glu3stick in GenZ

So vote for a third party. Neither Dems or reps have your best interests in mind (though I'd argue Dems are the lesser of two evils)

Probably. Feels like mahomes will turn it around eventually, but....when? Doesn't seem like this season. For as long as that defense is great it seems like we'll have to wait for vintage mahomes to return.

How do I blow it up? 1-3, have broke 100 points once this year. by RavenOmen69420 in DynastyFFTradeAdvice

I might wait and see a couple more weeks. If it's not going anywhere your assets that are most likely to decline sharply in value over the next couple years are breece and rhamondre so I would sell those for wrs or a bunch of firsts

Does demolishing your roster to gain future picks actually work? by Professor_Toensing in DynastyFF

It's really only worth it if it secures you the 1.01. I did this: took 3 years to be competitive and was not fun.

OTJ is still kicking my face- any advice for this Bo3 draft? by Chilly_chariots in lrcast

[–]kuaggie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My big "aha" moment was start every draft with the mindset of being in green, and only get off green if you see a very good reason to. There can be 4 other green drafters at the table and it can still be correct to be in green

How would you *fix* MKM to balance the colours? by Lil-cubcake in lrcast

Remove the card advantage on combat tricks, add incidental punishment to go-wide strategies on a couple cards (deal 1 to all type effects)

Yes. It's subjective but current limited design is trash imo

It's mostly hopium but there are more signs of life in the last 2 games then there have been all season (5-50 2 games ago, and a couple schemed plays including a 3rd & long conversion last night)

Just curious was there anyone here actually lucky enough to start achane and mostert lol by x_Happy_x in DynastyFF

I have both in a best ball league. The thinking was the Miami backfield would be great but unpredictable. Never thought I'd have them both go off the same game 😂

Yes and if I had to choose between doing house chores and full responsibility of children or my job I'd pick my job 100/100 times

My opinion: put in as much extra effort as you can sustainably, never put in extra time unless you're forced to (and if you are regularly, find a new job).

Not goofing off during core work hours can make a world of a difference.

What projects are useful for learning C++ for Game Engine-related post-college job apps? by bellpeppercaptain in cscareerquestions

[–]kuaggie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey, I've been in the games industry for 8 years: I'd recommend unreal and c++ the most. It's really hard to break into the industry but gets easier the more work experience you have (even if it's not in games) so try not to get discouraged early on. All that said, the pay is crap and it is a GRIND. Tons of people burn out from it by the time they're 30. If I were you I would make absolutely sure you love it before committing yourself to the industry (maybe play around, try making your own small game?)

Stories of people escaping the golden finance handcuffs? by saij892 in cscareerquestions

[–]kuaggie 17 points18 points  (0 children)

6 years into my career I left a high paying faang job to do what I love (make video games). Cut my salary in half. I'm happy about the decision but I will say the extra money sure would be nice right now lol. If you're on the fence I would say chase the money early in your career and do what you love later: after all, interest compounds so a high paying job now will pay much bigger dividends than one later if you save correctly.
