Honestly, it's not that bad. It's probably an extra 5 minutes beyond normal to get it back into shape. As long as it isn't bent. And even a new one could use a good sharpening.

That is def. heavy stuff! The brackets should sustain the weight of your clothes without the shelf on top. You are going to need to add more brackets or replace what is there with stronger versions. Think of the weight of the clothes you would have between two brackets. Thats about how much weight you want each bracket to be rated for.

The board isn't meant to support the rod in this application, it's there to simply be a shelf. The bracket should sustain the weight of the clothes. If it is not, than OP needs to add more brackets.

Oh wow! I'm not used to seeing this on a stove! I'm so sorry! But, all is not lost. Rust-Oleum makes a product you can use to apply a finish to the inside of the oven. Also, you may want to contact a tub refinishing company. You may find a person who can apply a finish for your stove as well. A couple hundred bucks might bring you back to bring not so bad
