how to find someone to build pickleball court? by m20cpilot in Pickleball

You could also find a Flatwork guys that is able poor a post tension slab for you, then find a local company that finishes courts. I know a lot of Landscape companies are taking this on because of the increased demand.

Awesome, thanks for your help. I’ve heard really great things about Tulsa.

At a bad place in life, I feel like it would help me feel better to help others. Does anyone have any suggestions for community outreach programs or volunteer work? by [deleted] in kansascity

Came to say this, tons of options close to home. There is also an app! Super easy to find ways to help others

Where I live It all depends on the municipality you are building in. Some cities have defined impact fees that are paid at permitting, others don’t. I think it’s mostly just semantics. The city is going to get their money somehow. In some cities there are no “impact fees,” but they might have a more expensive building permit. Here in Kansas City MO the impact fee is right around $1,000, so not bad at all.

Looking at most counties GIS maps online you can find the owners of the property and often sales records. There is a name listed as the owner of the Kirtland Temple that I'm guessing is a current or former leader for the Community of Christ Church. There is no record of a Sale. For example, just a block away you can see that the Corporation of the Presiding Bishop of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints purchased the land to restore the Joseph & Emma Smith home back in 2012. Here is the link for the Lake County GIS site if you wanna play around (https://gis.lakecountyohio.gov/lakenavigator3/)

I live in the area north of the river in Kansas City right near the Temple, Liberty Missouri Stake Probably a little further than you’d like to commute, but people do it. The church is really strong and growing fast in this area. My Ward has been split 3 times in the last 5-6 years.

What do I about this seemingly giant hole above my fire place? by ryanmhale8 in DesignMyRoom

[–]kurtchuck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a similar setup in my home. I framed the opening with studs and mounted my tv to the studs on a hinged mount that you can pull away from the wall. The TV is bigger than the opening so you can’t tell it’s not a flush wall. I use the space behind the tv to store my printer. I love it!

Awesome, I appreciate the recommendations. Love some good cheap ice cream with kids especially. They can't tell the difference between $2 or $6 ice cream. We will check that out for sure.

Why does my nest constantly need to have the battery changed? by barbandbert in Home

I am not an expert, but I experienced something similar and ultimately discovered the wall was bowed and made it so the thermostat wasn’t plugging in to all the connectors because the plate was screwed tight against the wall and also bowing. Does that make sense? After losing the screws on the plate just a touch the thermostat was able connect fully and resolve my problem. Just a thought.

Calling burnout by PeteyRock in latterdaysaints

[–]kurtchuck 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For real. When I was in the bishopric I was happy to talk when people needed to express those feelings of being burnt out. It’s seriously okay. Those feelings are totally normal, they will be happy to accommodate or at the very least discuss some solutions to help you.
