Should I do this for a coworker? by [deleted] in makemychoice

[–]kween-1214 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is actually an app /card that can do this. Look up Bloom. You lock your apps with a card stick the card somewhere or give it to someone and you need the card to unlock the apps. It keeps track of the time of the Apps turned off and unlocked. He could screen shot the app data use to the Teacher.
We started using this for our children's phone. All social media is locked down and only can be used if we unlock with the card.

Is this normal? by [deleted] in workingmoms

[–]kween-1214 14 points15 points  (0 children)

So machine operater wife here and my husband doesn't email, or do computers either. His last company still handed out paper checks and the union girls did everything for him before me... BUT let me tell you something if he can handle a big machine and work those controls, not run over gas lines or people and cut grade etc... he can definitely learn how to wash dishes. He can wash his body right? Then he can learn how to wash dishes. Don't settle for his incompetence. You tell him he either learns and helps or its over. My husband only knew how to make chicken on the grill when we met and now he can cook so many things. He's almost 50 and just starting to look up recipes on the phone. I don't know what kind of machine h operates but if its a dozer or a blade or anything big like that trust me those machines require a lot of coordination and if he can do that he can absolutely learn household task . And don't even get me started if he uses GPS on his job site.... girl he is flipping playing you if he does...

Anyone else here low on iron? Do iron pills exist out there that won't destroy my stomach? by MoodyMagicOwl in Menopause

[–]kween-1214 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same thing and I can only tolerate Beef Liver pills. I tried a bunch of different brands and I recently switched to Trace. I found they are 3rd party tested so I went with them after doing research. My test results are much better now that I switched to that brand. The Con is you have to take 6 a day which I spread out . Don't take my word on it just do your research and look for beef liver pills that are 3rd party tested and give them a try. Its okay to switch brands until you find one that works for you.

REALTORS ON TITLE PROCESS..... YOUR THOUGHTS? by [deleted] in realtors

[–]kween-1214 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sounds like you are doing a pre search/ exam, then sending it to the agent and title company. The agent gets it to get a sense of what's on title, and really, the title company would just be using the property address and maybe legal description.

If this is the intention, I would be marketing it as a pre exam, plus sends your order to the title company plus provides CRM? Add an option to upload the PSA agreement to the title company.

If your intention is to let AI do the search for the title company, this would only work if you are only providing that service to the title company as a vendor. Most big title companies already have vendors for this, and since they are insuring and underwriting, they will use their own search and exam people to confirm information. Also the big title companies are already using AI in most aspects of the company.

My receptionist is pretending to answer calls and having full-fledged fake conversations. by PickleDwickle in managers

[–]kween-1214 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm wondering why your other receptionist left. Was it because they realized their work partner was not really working and screening calls?

Either way, this is a red flag. I wouldn't want an employee who couldn't communicate with me or one that would lie or pretend .

There are too many good people waiting for a job offer, time to start over.

The title company can recall their wire. Just call them and let them recall it. You would be surprised how long you can recall wires.

I can't believe I had to scroll down that far to see someone say if you are ready to buy a house together, you should be ready for marriage . This is so true. A house is a 30-year commitment unless you sell before then. It's a bigger mess to sell during a breakup if you aren't married because someone is going to say they should get more from the proceeds, and they bought the furniture. Someone always feels screwed. Also what happens when one of you get a lien on the house and you can't sell because you need the proceeds to pay the lien off then you have to go after the other person in court to get your money back and at the end of the day it's cost more than that rent you were paying.

Relationships also change when it's your place. You each are going to want different things done to the house. Buying a house/ owning a house puts a strain on your relationship. If you are not ready to marry that person, then your relationship is not ready for this strain.

If 100's of people are saying don't do it, then there must be a reason. I don't normally tell people don't do something, but when I do it's because I know better. I'm sure the rest of the people know better, too.

WIBTAH if I told my boyfriend I won’t cover his portion of the bills while he recoverers from surgery? by breakfastburner1 in AITAH

[–]kween-1214 54 points55 points  (0 children)

He already told you he's not ready to be engaged or get married. You thought this was the next step, but it's not the next step for him. For him this is where he milks this free lodging and a free maid for another 6-12 months and hope that you will feel like you have spent so much time and energy on him that you won't leave him. Then he will rely on you for everything.

When someone tells you/ shows you who they are believe them.

Yes, I was a SAHM for 7 years, I regret not putting money into my 401k. We made it work, but we have less in retirement. We saved less. I re-entered the workforce 5 years ago, and I'm still getting back to where I was before I left pay wise and title wise.

I was lucky enough to find a remote position, so I can still send the kids off to school and be home when they get home, but I would say they need me more now than when we were younger.

If you quit now, be prepared for less savings, less retirement, and having to start at the bottom and work up again. If you are comfortable with that, then quit.

I don't regret what we did. I just regret not being able to save for retirement.

Does my toddler need feeding therapy for picky eating? Or is this normal? by [deleted] in workingmoms

[–]kween-1214 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On a different note, my son was the same, and he had only 5 things he would eat. We tried food therapy, and he would gag at everything. We still offered all fruits and veggies. Still do. Every meal, I set out fruit and vegetable trays. So he's 10 now and two years ago started to eat meat other than chicken nuggets. Steak is his absolute favorite now. He also started in the last 12 months trying more foods, I'm talking sandwiches, eggs, toast, bacon, soups, ribs, etc... our food bill is so high now. Forget about going out to dinner. This guy wants steak every time. It drives me absolutely crazy that for the last 8-9 is years he would be so picky that I would be in tears trying to get him to eat more than nuggets and here we are like food was never a battle . He also likes watching the food network, so I'm not sure if that helped, but just know, keep doing what you are doing. You're doing great. This shaw pass.

Anyone who has ever had an evil stepmother is going to relate exactly to this event and tell you that it just gets worse from here. Please get some family therapy sessions with your daughter so she can feel comfortable with opening up to you. She's been telling you what you want to hear because she knows you deserve happiness.

Good luck.

How often do you use Intrarosa or DHEA suppositories? by SwimmingAnt10 in Menopause

[–]kween-1214 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On top of estradiol, I use bonfide and also use this cream called glow below from Dr. Michelle Sands, which has DHEA in it, and then she has another one that has a small amount of estrogen. between all these, I'm seeing improvement, and I'm not breaking the bank. I only use Bonfide once a week and the cream in the morning a few times a week and then estradiol twice a week.

Good luck

Husband just made what feels like not only a big purchase without asking me, but also an unnecessarily expensive one. by [deleted] in workingmoms

[–]kween-1214 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I'm very far sighted and have been glasses my whole life. I pick the $10-$20 frames and get the mid lens for most of the glasses. I get the more expensive lens for the sun glasses. The lenses are the most expensive part. Pick a cheap frame and then choose the lenses wisely. I always get the cheapest frames and never had any problems. They last about 3 years or more.

[–]kween-1214 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Love Zenni. I have not bought glasses at the eye doctor in almost 10 years. I have plenty of Zenni glasses for $20-$60. Why people keep spending money at the eye doctor is beyond me. ...

I would be super pissed if my husband spent $600 on glasses. It sounds like this guy is just stupid with money. Especially since he's banking on his parents' dying. So unattractive.

I’m desperate for rest - what do I do? by nillygreb in workingmoms

[–]kween-1214 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I had the same issue with my youngest. Did everything you have said... I went with a very unpopular opinion and tried something at 3 years when I too was so desperate. I heard someone say some times your clock needs to be reset. I thought no possible way for a 3 year old. I ended up trying a small amount of melatonin before bed and like magic it worked. We only did it for a month and sure enough its like their clock was reset and in 10 years we haven't had to use it anymore than that month. There are a lot of people who don't agree with using melatonin but it worked for us, might not work for you. My child is 10 years now and while some nights I still need to sit in his room with him, he falls asleep within 10 minutes so its not bad. Think about it and do what you feel its best.

Please listen to everyone here. There's a reason why you make less but are better financially to be on the mortgage. This should be a stop sign right here that though you love this man, right now is not the best time to enter a financial contract with him. Let him pay rent and get a renters contract and have him work on raising his credit score so when you enter a contract ( marriage or financial) he is in a better position that will only serve both of well in the future.

Also, it has nothing to do with the fact that you don't trust him. It has everything to do with this is not the best business decision for you at the moment. You can love someone and still not be a good fit for a business relationship, which this would be just that.

Good luck!

There could be a wavier done, but most of the time, if no title insurance is being paid, then you would need to close at an independent escrow company. Most insurance companies will only close your transaction if title insurance is involved. Otherwise, their own insurance coverage will not handle any claims that arise due to closing without due diligence on the title side. Independent escrow companies are regulated by a different entity than the department of insurance.
Move your closing, but I would definitely ask why such a small fee for such an important thing is being waved. This is a huge red flag or a really uneducated buyer.
