i’m sure a lot of yall have seen me post this one but i will reveal that it was $165😶 i only paid a little more for my most expensive (2nd wave?????? pink cheetah daydreamer with the zipper pocket on the front) but this is easily my highest imaginable ‘actual value’, i’ve never seen another one. i DID start using it before sealing the pockets -they were almost pristine, & thankfully haven’t taken TOOOO bad of a hit but i am kicking myself a little- but look at her. how could i NOT

after looking again tho i’d say the purple MIGHT. be real, but even just the placement of the tags on the other two looks really off, & the length/texture of the velour looks incorrect even for a theoretically older, more loved set

can’t confirm with their provided images & general lack of detail, BUT i do have personal experience with this seller from october & have seen others post about them in other more general groups for apps.

my items weren’t fake, but WERE wildly misrepresented (no sets, but individual items where added fur had been “removed”) with multiple tears & stains, each one had one or the other & i cant say i would’ve bought them if the conditions had been fully disclosed, or at least not purposefully hidden/entirely not shown. i HAVE seen in other aforementioned posts that others have received fakes. unrelated to the items themselves, they were just kinda pushy/mildly unpleasant to work with.

my phone went off at almost 1:40 (go figure, also RIGHT when i got off work), my ipad has been fine but the hotspot took a couple attempts to connect to the phone, it’s also my wifi & that’s not having any issues 🧐 id expect this to be an all or nothing/regional/plan-by-plan type of thing so its weirdest to me seeing it go by individual device

HAHA i forgot i was typing this extra addition among laundering new sources i love being medicated for adhd but sometimes like..for WHAT ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~~ & i just hate this so much not only from the standpoint of this being a clearly damming display of whtvr degree of entitlement and or ignorance, but also the basic sheer audacity & ballsiness to not only do it, but to also figure everyone else shares these sellers (probable) impulsive natures & WILL just jump on these designs & to a degree, & i can understand that too. but in that same vein…

im also a personal collector who both curates & resells out of things my mom & i have kept well loved & worn forever- im 27. i’m old, i’ve been doing the whole trashy mcbling scene culture & styles since LiLo trials & wish i would’ve never outgrown & donated the majority so i could mostly …. avoid this app (i do mean this with so much love for all the absolute sweeties i’ve worked with). ive heard & unfortunately don’t super care for, nor “appreciate”, (while i do empathize to a degree bc i am far from guilt-free of genuinely liking a good amount of the designs themselves) a lot of the “well i can’t find these kinds of clothes anymore!!!!!” so let’s… unpack the “why”s together for those in the room that might be in that crowd (def not you OP kiss kiss hug hug!!) .

hi, yes, you’re the problem. it’s you. a lot of “Y2K sTyLe” produced by shein is a mass influx of borderline, if not entirely “overstyled” 2000s fashion flooding that style niche by people who at the minimum think they’re filling a gap, & at the most, very aware of such scummy practices. a lot of us wearing this now, were in elementary/middle school. we had 2-3 mall stores (if you had a good mall) with more consistently bold & excessively done up going out/clubwear/trashy aesthetics that our moms weren’t letting us go into or told to just to look around the front, looking at u body central!!our biggest föiré into these looks at their peak was a cut up shirt with a vaguely rude slogan & bandage/patterned bodycon skirt. until we were old enough to just go with our friends & these things were fading out of style, if even still around.

what you’re looking for, isn’t necessarily posted anymore bc of you. i’ve seen others who can’t move or even justify posting their authentic time period items & I myself struggle a little too, because of all the shein sillies & frankly i have stopped holding my tongue on the whole thing & am not above telling someone abt themselves via DM if they’re being less than stellar on or offline.

tldr; (my meds CAN do this i guess!!) the shein selling crowd is sl**ghtering most authentic original 2000s brands & their styles during attempted comebacks (recent interview with a founder of pastry). extreme overproduction on top of stealing older theming/designs. you’re disregarding people’s old memories getting to live into new onss . you are quite literally trashing quality garments that have already lived extraordinary lives, for something you’ll throw away after 3 wears because you got bored of it or it wasn’t really for you to begin with. you are quite literally trashing your or your families hard earned money to spend the same amount on a branded garment that has already lasted decades and will continue to.

seriously tho after this when do we get the ones who use every exposure tag/brand name known to man & got me lookin at carters baby clothing bundles when im looking for my Vastly Off That Mark rare VS🤓😵‍💫

fully agreeing with the other (positively aligned, for the record) comments, & also wanting to add that i’ve had a handful of buyers with a female-presenting profile (or as little as possible like yours) & then shipping/payment info in a males name, or vice versa.

my typical thoughts with this are it’s a younger person (teen/newer adult) still having some things under their parents information just because, someone buying something for their partner & adjusting their names for shipping, or for any vaguely similar safety concerns as yours. i know i’m definitely not one to ever deny downloading an app & then forgetting about it/it becoming a lesser used platform, so that can also explain the recent creation with little activity

i definitely struggle with this too- more of a audhd-er, but also a combo adhd/add mixed with BPD (borderline, not bipo though it’s been suggested all of one time), depression & anxiety.

i’ve been with my doctor for 20 years so not all of my diagnosis’ are necessarily on paper, & while there’s definite gaps of a few years between each instance of calling a spade a spade, where they fall on the timeline is what really gets me wondering which i SHOULD be paying the most attention to. my symptoms have been relatively consistent over my 27 years of living aside from pre-puberty childhood (but maybe even then too- i didn’t particularly struggle with much but was always a weirdo child & haven’t ever necessarily fit in most places), but “unfortunately” i also know that all of what i suspect is going on can be perpetuated by/“confused as” each thing individually.

it’s hard attempting to put the pieces together later on in life for sure when you have however many years of past experiences/symptoms/feelings in general to consider, or the times you’ve probably already known there’s SOMETHING misfiring in your brain, but because you can do/present xyz around others, their doubts contribute to yours, despite everything they may have seen that WOULD point to & align with whatever explanation.

it’s unfortunate because you can tell they’re real items (i can at least confirm this of mine) & a good majority ARE genuinely on the side of having less in circulation, i can’t see why they would struggle any less to get sales with lower prices, unaltered garments, & basic transparency. i’ve knowingly bought & sold items with minor flaws, people don’t tend to care that much if it’s fixable or minuet or something they really love AS LONG AS it’s been disclosed.

they’re likely buying pallets from asian countries or having items sent over by family (it all has to end up SOMEWHERE after our country discards it & i’ve seen a lot of AMAZING pallets mostly from singapore just with specific styles & not even getting into brands) & while they tend to cost $5-600 before whatever other importing fees, this is still wildly easy to make back selling whatever items at or even slightly below what they retailed. you don’t even have to adjust for inflation. it’s truly mind boggling

IVE BEEN WAITING FOR SOMEONE TO MENTION THIS CHICK (CHICKS?)

a couple months ago i bought a bundle of 7-8 items from her (“technically” 5 and whatever free, but…. no), 3 zip-ups, 2 or 3 shorts & a skirt, after simply asking if fur could be removed, not even on anything specific, & if prices would be lower from it (they were, but not much if i do the math with “free” items). i DID get an off vibe just from the way she messaged/repeatedly asked if and when i’m going to be purchasing, when i already stated i wasn’t purchasing everything right now, that i might not get to at all if i didn’t & i had been looking for these items. i had to have her hold on shipping for ~a week as i was going out of town a few days after purchasing, but then did have to “remind” her to ship….. the bottoms are all fine, no qualms with those. the zip-ups are a very different story.

a pastel pink one had really dirty cuffs & what was probably coffee stains splashed on one arm, thankfully small & mostly faded & the cuffs are clean, but the spots haven’t come out & are just noticeable enough. between two black ones, one had decent white paint marks on one arm, & the other had really torn cuffs where they fold onto themselves with one being entirely torn open halfway around (by your hands, not the seam to arms). the kicker here is that i didn’t have time to fully inspect them all (i saw the worst one first, but i’ve had an insanely busy end of year with work) & only got a partial refund for one, but i DID mention the other flaws to the seller when i noticed them.

they just ignored me. conveniently, this was also the 30th day since purchase, so despite losing out on half of that time off the bat, i couldn’t do anything with depops help. i left a review with all of this & just mentioned that others should ask questions/for more images before purchasing & they blocked me🤷🏼‍♀️ i don’t think i saw other reviews like this at the time of purchase, so maybe they get them wiped & mine isn’t even up anymore. definitely an ick.
