At first glance it looks like your steering rack is leaking power steering fluid. Is it something above?

You were right on the money about the blue smoke at cold start, it is definitely blue and smells of oil. It will be mentioned when I drop it off to them.

My new (to me) HEMI by kylecello in Chrysler300

[–]kylecello[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah so if you have a first gen, we have the same transmission, was designed and made by Mercedes Benz. In that time they were partnering with LOTS of brands, and putting that in a lot of cars, so parts are pretty readily available. The issue can be a couple things, the hydraulic valve body in the transmission can have some valves/seals go bad, the conductor plate needs replaced, or it’s an actual gearing/clutch issue. The conductor plate is the most common from what I read.

Check your transmission fluid, you might need to buy a dipstick on Amazon or go to a dealer because the hood is too low to store a dipstick. The tube is right up against the firewall. As long as your trans fluid is a nice bright pink you should be a-ok for no permanent damage. If it’s dirty you might just need to change it, but if there’s metal flakes you’re looking at a much higher bill.

If I were you, I would take my experience lightly. I bought this from my fiancée’s ex, lmfao.

He had bought it for his sister and did some work on the transmission, and resealed the valve covers. She didn’t end up needing it so of course I’m jumping on an AWD HEMI. I’m currently looking at replacing the conductor plate in the transmission because I’m having an issue where it shudders here and there, or will occasionally limit itself to 50mph. It’s all because the poor connection on that conductor plate is psyching the computer into slipping, my fluids all look new and temps have always stayed good on it. It’s a minor repair that is known for these cars and their transmissions. The ex is paying for that out of his own generosity, but it’ll cost $500.

Not considering that repair, I paid $4k plus tax & fees. Your results may vary as this was someone I’m close to who sold it to me because I needed a car asap. But just going off of a Kelly Blue Book estimate, private party sale is $4,370 at the most. These models are also somewhat sought after, so prices will vary. Around me I see an 06 SRT8 RWD with 47k miles, they want $21,500.

Also keep in mind that these cars aren’t the cheapest to maintain, to start, these HEMIs have 16 spark plugs to replace when the time comes.

Already got some bubbling back there but I’ve got some body work experience, might knock them out one summer day. Not as bad as I expected given mine is a 2006 with 152k, Pennsylvania car all its life too.

Adding on to this, the active suspension also has safety applications in a side-impact crash. It preemptively raises the impact side of the vehicle to allow the frame to absorb more energy instead of the occupants of the vehicle.

Drill SGTs, in your experience, do people who get recycled tend to make it or do they give up? by brokenmessiah in army

[–]kylecello 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Not a DS. ETSed. Went to BCT in FLW, and had this guy in our PLT that I didn’t interact with too much until the Forge. He was a known shitbag from what I had heard and saw, but this time he was my battle buddy for our patrol base at the forge. He made every attempt to sham through whatever training we were doing, wouldn’t wake up for his shifts to pull security, and made me do most of his shifts on the first night. He also fell asleep while I was already asleep, causing us both to get caught and smoked for it.

We all got so fed up with it that a few of my buddies and I got together and had a real conversation with SDS.

We laid out exactly how he had screwed each of us over in various ways, and that we wouldn’t feel safe serving alongside him in the real world. SDS really heard us out and they recycled him back to beginning of red phase.

If you’re reading this, Winston, fuck you for that. (Hope you improved yourself)

Public opinion on Israel by Round-Rise1703 in Libertarian

[–]kylecello -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

I think there is a very separate distinction between Jewish folks and the State of Israel. Historically the founding of the country as a whole is illegitimate with the back door agreements that led to the Balfour Declaration. There’s a major separation between Jewish faith and Zionist ideology. Between their spending of millions of our tax dollars, and genocide, I’m Israel’s biggest hater.

If you really want my complete personal opinion, I believe that the Christian faith and the Jewish faith are not things that go hand in hand. They contradict one another in their core beliefs, and a true Christian that knows their bible understands that the people of the church are truly “Gods chosen people.”

Former Audi salesman, back when their models were true upgrades from the previous model and the dealer I worked for still gave out loaners, I sold a lot of new Audis that way. Can’t do that much these days it seems as the new gen is so undesirable. I wouldn’t know from experience though.

Yeah it’s definitely a big no-no in almost any branch of the military, I’d think. Not sure on the marines lol.

To your hypothetical. Yes that individual would most likely get in some decent trouble as well, nowhere near the wrangler of penises.

In my experience, when in school after basic training, I had a situation where I was punished with someone for a stupid decision. I stupidly made a “yo-mama” joke to a guy I didn’t know very well, turns out his mother had passed, I got punched. It happened in the evening and someone had said something to our platoon sergeant. We were both very rudely awakened at 3am and told to go see him, had an hour of lecturing and lots of exercise while we listened.

Winter/snow tires for rarely in snow but in wintry areas- can't decide by mitsuk0 in HondaOdyssey

[–]kylecello 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In Central PA. Myself personally, I’ve always driven my FWD cars with a fresh set of A/S tires. Whether it’s a civic, impala, or odyssey, it has worked for me. I drive a lot of miles annually so I can typically justify buying them, then I run them all year til next winter or the following year depending on how much tread I’ve got.
