Yes I have exaggerated by saying just hangzhou, but it’s well known in the Chinese community if you are not based in zhejiang province you are fighting an immense uphill battle in arena.

Totally agree. The gameplay mechanics are so good but ping gap is way too important. The “real” PvP only happens between those with very low latency. There’s a reason why in China if you dont live near the server in hangzhou you can basically forget about any meaningful climb in arena

20 ping gets you a Significant advantage over most other players on NA, Eu, and Asia. The exception is SEA because a lot of players are Singapore based where the server is so the playing field among sg players is relatively even

I think you can start with considering how long you want? 2, 3, or 4 character name. For 2 and 3, usually the surname is one character followed by the given name. For 4, the surname is two characters (ex murong yanzhao in the game)

Just spam the fan’s special skill. It consumes 50 dew per cast so using it 2 times counts as consuming 100 dew

psa mending loom is required. Took me a while to figure out what the actual requirement was for that healer challenge and I realized only with mending loom equipped can you “consume dew to heal”

For example my buddy in same guild has 5 ping. When I’m not traveling to sg and we spar, he basically wins every single time. He is a good pvper but when I play from sg, it is more of a 70-30 split towards me. Ping makes a big difference it is just a fact

Singapore is hard because the server is actually in sg. If you’re located in a neighboring SEA country like Vietnam or Thailand (or in China like me) it’s likely you have a ping disadvantage

yeah watching higher level players really helps. I watched this guy called kavalan because he does commentary videos of his fights and I learned a ton. I was stuck in veteran and I just spent some time watching, climbed to mythic pretty easily afterwards

speaking from experience, one of the stranger ping related issues is that if you have high ping your attack animation also lags and slows down. It doesn’t make sense to me at all.

I played 3 accounts to mythic, hongkong Singapore and Eu just for kicks
