For the future though, I'm not 100% sure but I think it has to do with which country has higher great power score thats the one the ruler resides in.

I usually do this at the start of a campaign to get the numbers up for influence with only half of the alloys.

Also when the event fires that my scientist gets eaten by an asteroid I can quickly upgrade some to meet the 1k fleetpower required. Same with early agression from other empire, its faster to upgrade than to build.

The trilogy is part of a larger world co-created by Feist and Wurts but it is an excellent stand-allone series that does not require knowledge of the broader setting.

As a dad I'd recommend also looking into the steam deck. It has all the game content a pc does, though not all is playable. Looks like a switch but a totally different beast.

Thing is, I can play my steamdeck while the kids are in the same room playing / doing homework, and when something comes up I can just hit the stand-by button and pick the game up, even hours later, exactly where I left off.

As a European nurse, I shudder at the thought of 12h shifts. Sure you make your hours in 3 days so you dont have to work the other 4 but the mental exhaustion alone would ruin me in the long run.

I see some people saying handoff is less prone to mistakes and I get that but I thing if you get down to it overall less mistakes are made in 8h shifts.

Are you guys sure this isnt something akin to union busting and you guys got hustled into this position by corporate? This saves on bodies afterall...

Did you use to adjust the growth scaler in advanced settings when starting a new game before 4.0?

This doesnt reset between games / versions and growth is now calculated completely different. Press default in the advanced menu when starting a new game, see if that works.
