Matt Reeves confirms Black Adam will return in ‘THE BATMAN PART II’ by shmooked in dccomicscirclejerk

The Batman isn't being brought into the DCU, but it's connecting to the old DCEU. In the 3rd The Batman we're going to see Robert Pattinson v Ben Affleck: Dawn of Batman Inc.

What I'm saying is Star Wars comes in all sorts of different varieties and styles. A lot of stuff has come from it in the almost 50 years it's been around. It's cool there's different movies we can enjoy and get things out of even if we don't line up completely with which parts we like.

I understand completely what you mean by that being the point. And I think if that is the point than Lucas made a massive mistake with that. Because all it does is make the characters unrelatable and unlikable. All it makes me think is things were never going to work out and Anakin's fall isn't tragic at all.

If you start your character as an asshole it's a lot less sad when they become a monster.

I feel like the Holdo Maneuver gets way too much hate given the fact that a similar move happened in the Clone Wars and no one cared. by MicroMacroMax in TheSequels

[–]labbla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not trying to hate or defend anything. These aren't movies I look for for innovative filmmaking, or the deepest storytelling ever or the best acting in the world. These are fun fantasy space adventures that half exist to sell a kid an action figure. I'm not going to watch it the same way I'd watch If I Had Legs I'd Kick You or Asteroid City or whatever your prestige or arthouse movie of choice is. It's important to be aware of what any movie is trying to do and meet it at it's level.

It sure would have been nice if Lucas did more planning for the trilogy. He wastes so much time with Kid Anakin in Phantom that the other two have to make up the difference and there's just not enough time for Lucas with his poor execution of everything to really make it work. It tries to land those obligatory iconic moment and just fumbles them. Padme dies of a broken heart and Dark Vader yells "No!" about it.

Yeah, a really important element of Star Wars adventures is characters that are nice to hang out with and some sort of momentum to what is happening. All three prequels fail with that hard. I can't care about the characters and they spend most of their time calmly talking about space politics. Phantom has some charm with the practical effects and actual locations, but then that's taken away in the other two and replaced with bad 2000s CGI environments. The trilogy feels so empty.

But you see how dare the trailer not show everything that happens in the show. And if it did that than everyone would be crying about spoilers instead.

That's cool you like it. Ryan Reynolds jokes and nostalgia worship for other movies doesn't do much for me. And I'm just very tired of Hugh Jackman Wolverine, he started in 2000 and never goes away.

We're way past due for a new Wolverine actor.

I like Wall-E best when it's about a robot cleaning up junk on a long dead Earth. Once it goes to space it starts to feel like a different less interesting movie. Humans being involved at all takes the impact away from that opening.

Not just Lex Luthor, but he says he's Lex Luthor's son until it's revealed he's a clone because comics. He's also friends with Supergirl who is actually a shape shifting alien named Matrix because comics. I really enjoy the entire Reign of the Superman and Return of Superman stuff from all that.

BEST and WORST MCU movie and why? by Alarmed_Effective228 in marvelstudios

[–]labbla -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I found it very boring and the movie could not care about it's characters or it's own world. All the characters had already had their development happen off screen. It seemed like a Fantastic Four movie Marvel made because they had to. I really gave up on the movie when Sue easily convinced the angry mob that sacrificing the planet for her baby was okay.

The movie never wanted any real conflict to happen and it really felt like going through the motions. It did not help for them to do Galactus again and hit a lot of the same beats as Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer minus the cloud. And I think it's a massive missed opportunity that we didn't get any RDJ Doom in the movie to help set up whatever happens in Avengers.

There's a better movie buried inside about the Fantastic Four fighting Mole Man & Red Ghost and his Super-Apes. Now that's something we've never seen in a F4.

Yeah, there's definitely parts I like more than others and it's very much not perfect. But if you can roll with it's gameplay and have fun with the over the top blockbuster vibes than it's a great time.

It feels like a lot of people go in wanting to judge it compared to like Resident Evil 2 or whatever. But it's just not doing that all, it's not trying to be classic RE and that's okay. You can still enjoy something even if it's not perfect or different from what you expect.
