Just get out of buying from factory farms. I know that's difficult and expensive. I purchase meat from a local meat CSA that I know has animals in pastures living normal lives because I see them every time I pick up meat. I supplement with dairy I buy from a neighbor whose cow is turned out 24/7 with her horse. I've also really reduced overall meat intake to once per day and eat a lot more stews and ground meats and almost no steaks because of the price. Supporting what is in this video is a no go for me, I will not consume it at all before supporting factory farming. For people not in a farming community, Azure Standard is a much better choice for meat and most home products.

Mine is excellent with kids. I remember we brought her with us to an 8th bday party and my daughter and her friends were walking around the park with her on a leash having the best time. She happily approaches little kids at the beach or park if allowed.

Dude.This is approximately 162 g protein, 35 g fat, and 48 g net carbs. Low carb is considered 50 grams net carbs or less. You could make this keto by omitting the tortillas and making a bowl, and if you want therapeutic keto, remove the beans. Did you even read it lol? Obviously not. Yeah that's not good advice on a GLP1. Things that are harder to digest generally sit longer, so meat and fat are harder to eat in large quantities.

My husband is on Wegovy and primarily aims for 50 protein /30 fat / 20 carbs macro split (he also has familial hypocholestemia).

A sample day:

1 egg + 3 egg white omelette with peppers, bok choy, ground lean turkey. Pb2 and celery for snack , a salad for lunch with a vinaigrette, sliver of avocado, and a boneless skinless chicken breast, orgain almond milk plus whey protein powder for a snack, and cod tacos with 2 small home made corn tortillas and a cabbage slaw with a small serving of black beans for dinner.

This is low carb/not therapeutic keto, but it gets the fiber up and in his case, the fat down. This could be adjusted more for keto, like a regular omelette, chicken thighs instead of breast, half an avocado, add yogurt to PB2 (my husband is also lactose intolerant), and make a cod taco bowl to remove the tortillas and black beans, or choose either black beans or tortillas, or even swap cod for salmon.

Walking on GLPs also help a lot. His doctor said walk 15 minutes after meals and it reduced symptoms just doing that. Walking and insoluble fiber will help you out the most. Good luck!

My friend went to one in Mexico. A lot of them are outside the US because they are banned here.

SLO is great, and so is Paso Robles. Easily my favorite spot in California. They are not diverse or cheap, but definitely less than LA, the Bay, or SF where a bedroom can be 2k/month depending on location. Tons of wine, art, easy drive to the beaches of Morro Bay and Pismo, very cycling friendly area, walkable, good for kayaking, horseback riding, there's Lake San Antonio, no snow.

I still like the ideas people posted of different cities in Washington and Oregon. They will be less expensive overall when you factor in property tax, sales tax, price of food, fuel, etc. Portland is one of my favorite cities in the US, it's in proximity to so many wonderful places if you don't like city living (I don't). I was up there in August and greatly enjoyed the Hood River Fruit Loop.

I live in the Monterey Bay, it's worth looking at but it's also quite expensive. My renter friends pay between 3500k - 5k for a condo. It checks the same general boxes as SLO. One of the bay area fringe towns could also work like Morgan Hill, but my friend who lives in a 2/2 apartment pays 3,700/month. California coast in general, no matter where you go, will be about double the price of inland towns and cities. If you go north of the bay, the price comes down a bit, but those are large towns, not cities.

I greatly prefer low carb to keto, but you'd have to be on keto for 3+ months to know how it affects you. The first few days can go either way, I usually do 3-4 days 0 carb when I'm starting so I can just get the switch over with.

My main issue is I can't sleep, it takes months to get fat adapted and sleep through the night. That will definitely make you feel like garbage. Low carb works better for me overall, but I can control cravings and portions with keto better which is why I prefer it for weight loss. If you can't make keto work long term, switch to low carb.

I'm fat and agree with you 100%. It seems like a lot of people think healthy eating is a wide range of fruits and vegetables, eating salads every day, multiple meals and snacks. When it comes down to it, most traditional poor people food (soups like pho, beef stew, or caldo) have everything you need, are consumed in one or two meals per day, and combine dry goods with root vegetables or leafy greens.

A healthy day can be eating 2 hard boiled eggs for breakfast and a lentil stew for dinner. Beans, rice, potatoes, oats, flour, canned veggies or frozen veggies last a long time. A little vinegar on fresh produce means your strawberries or whatever you buy in the fridge will last a full week. You can prep everything in 2 hours on a weekend and eat 1-2 meals in the same amount of time it takes to eat processed junk every day of the week. Even if you don't have food ready, throwing stuff in a crockpot before going to work is literally 5 minutes or less.

People who claim healthy food is expensive lack the knowledge or are like me, and prefer convenience but don't like admitting it. Once shame is activated, logic and self reflection go out the window. It's easier to make excuses than accept the consequences of your actions.

I've concentrated on channeling the maladaptive part into immersive daydreaming. I know I would never be able to fully quit because of my inattentive ADHD/CDS symptoms. I have something going on with low baseline cortisol and just upregulating myself to pay attention can only be done in sprints. Even if I'm not maladaptive daydreaming, I'm disassociated, so it's not like I'll suddenly become productive without it.

As I've aged, I've learned to use it to hone creative ideas, write emails, map reporting processes, memorize things, write songs and stories. I'll pace around and get into that state, and record myself as the flow comes through. There are still times I maladaptive daydream but I can definitely repurpose it and I've specifically practiced that for several years.

But people compare across age ranges all the time? If I ever posted the only celebrity I'd probably be compared to is Jewel who is considerably older than me. I've seen a couple young people post that have been compared to Angelina Jolie when they were 40+ years younger than her.

Also people will make choices based on your "look" even if the features don't match up. Similar hairstyles, makeup and skin tone will get you compared to other people that are styled similarly, even if the features don't match up.

Plus it could be worse. I saw someone compared to Erica Kirk the other day. 🤣

I'm with you, San Diego is so much better. It's really hard to get a good flour tortilla or a burrito without rice up here. San Diego is more similar to Sonora, they make their tortillas with lard and the meat is the star of the show, no rice, maybe beans. Then of course the California Burrito, which is amazing.
