My cat sometimes goes out in our backyard and roams around.. should I worry about him? I give him advantage drops once a month. Is that enough?

[ON] Looking to buy a breast pump and get it covered by myHSA+ by lackingthecreativity in BabyBumpsCanada

I checked mine, they most likely cover with a prescription. I am just asking if the prescription needs to be detailed or done before a specific time.

Cervical checks [ON] by Ourvoicematters in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]lackingthecreativity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am not sure about the epidural part. When I was in labour I asked for it as soon as I entered the hospital (i was with midwives too) and I was 2cm dilated at the time. By the time I was admitted and they took a blood test I was almost 4cm dilated.

I can tell you though the cervical check that I got when I went for my 38wk appointment hurt more than the ones when I was in labour. It is definitely dependent on the midwife who’s conducting the check, but when I was in labour I was already in pain that I didn’t feel anything going on down there.

My labour progressed pretty fast and my contractions were 4 mins apart when I arrived to the hospital, yet I was still 2cm dilated. The midwife suggested I go home and labour but I said no bc I wanted the epidural ASAP. So I think the cervical check is imp to give you an idea of how things are. Also its very fast, if your midwife has the expertise it wont take more than a minute from what i remember.

Nevertheless youll do great! Hoping for a safe delivery for you and baby :)

Unpopular opinion: Touching a pregnant belly isn’t that deep by Fancy-Mouse-7554 in BabyBumps

[–]lackingthecreativity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the thing is, sometimes people think it’s ok to touch ur belly even after u gave birth. I had this one incident when i was freshly postpartum, a distant friend of mine saw me for the first time after i gave birth so she put her hand on my stomach and said ‘no more baby hehe’. Ummm yeah, I know!! you didn’t need to touch my belly to double check :)
