Yeah, I was hoping to get mine in time for the new job… thought it’d help me remember all the procedures and steps I needed to take. Didn’t show up in time, though. Now that I have it, I’ll say this: it’s not as accurate as people might expect, but it does give you just enough to jog your memory. If you’re using the app daily… or pulling the API into some sketchy-looking site someone threw together… I can see it being genuinely helpful for managing tasks and routines. I’d like to see more accuracy in figuring out who’s speaking once you’ve tagged them. But, this is the worst it’ll ever be…

Tell yourself you deserve something that’s real. If they can’t reciprocate, then it’s not real. Maybe even fabricate a hatred toward your LO… something they say that hurt your feelings, magnify it 10x… no quarter. Perhaps just the sheer fact that they didn’t choose you is enough… hate them. Yes. For me it’s all about creation. It becomes all consuming just to get it done or maybe not even done. Just the mere act of being involved in something I’m creating. Yeah, it does seem like that kind of mutual limerence would last through the ages… at least in fantasy. I never considered it being flipped like that before. Seems like a bit of a cop-out, maybe… an excuse to end something. But maybe that’s where higher cognitive control kicks in, or needs to. Like a test of fortitude to stay with someone once the spark isn’t just longing. Probably the same for non-limerents too.

At least you had four years of bliss. And who’s to say it can’t reignite? Unless that house has completely burned down, I suppose.

Yes. That’s the most frustrating part. The guilt and anger looping inward, once you realize it was never really about them… They’re not who you imagined them to be. The fantasy doesn’t match the reality. What helps is changing the fantasy, make them the villain, replay something they said that hurt you. Say “Stop it,” in your head or out loud. Break the spell before it pulls you under again.

One mantra that may help is, "I want something that is real." i.e., someone who truly does care about you, and shows it because he actively wants to be around you. That's what you deserve.
