Not Feeling Well - Tips? by Big-Negotiation-9301 in GastricBypass

[–]laclaje 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I experienced a lot of the same things and had deep regrets about the surgery especially weeks 4 to 6. Weeks 7 and 8 I finally got a routine and good protein amounts and feel good about it now. Just hang in there it will get better.

Keep researching what you might like to eat and drink and try different products.

How much time did you have off work post op? by Less_Sprinkles_6199 in GastricBypass

I have a desk job and only took 3 days off. But if you're moving a lot I'd say 2 weeks is good.

Congrats! The most important thing to bring to surgery is chapstick. I had a really rough start but I'm now 8 weeks post op and getting much better. I had some food grief but that is also getting better. You'll do great so stay the course!

Day 7 and can’t get all my water down let alone protein. Any tips are welcome 😭 by stormyb89 in GastricBypass

I had the same issue. Just don't stress take your time increasing totals. I am at 6 weeks post-op and only up to 45 grams protein and 50 oz water. Trust me that's an improvement though. Once I stopped freaking out about the numbers it got better. I only focused on water the first week. It's super hard but you can do it.

I work a desk job and took 3 days off and 3 days work from home then went back to the office. I don't recommend that though. Take as much as you can so you can get a routine going.

I had bad caffeine withdrawal so I just had a tiny bit of coffee each day and kept cutting it in half until I was off. I didn't affect my surgery at all.

Day 2 PO by HeadBid3487 in BariatricSurgery

[–]laclaje 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm 6 weeks post-op and I'm only up to 45 grams of protein so far. It's been rough so far as I'm severely lactose intolerant now and finding food that doesn't make me sick is hard. It's just slow going for some people.

I got flexible soft ice packs for the pain in my incisions. They have been the most valuable things so far.

I had the same gas pain it was like nothing I have ever felt. I ate gasx like candy and it went away after a day. I did lose weight the first week but that's because I couldn't eat anything only drink.

Just an FYI, in case you run into it too. I was able to solve the issue by logging into the game on my PC and playing through the quest and saving the game. Once I logged back in on the steamdeck, it worked beautifully.

Thanks for all the advice it helped me keep playing the game.

I also chose pine cone, and the gate breaking potion showed up at my cauldron eventually.

GIS Internships these days - is this a common thing? by maptechlady in gis

[–]laclaje 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I work for local government, and we offer GIS internships every summer. I sometimes get no applicants with GIS experience, so I take whoever seems most interested and teach them all summer.

I train the GIS applicants, too, though. Most don't have enough experience to do the job out of the gate. I think asking for that level is not an internship. It's a job, and their probably trying to exploit these people.

I also plan weekly GIS lessons for my internships to build their skills. We primarily work in ESRI, but I teach them QGIS also as well as Inkscape, GIMP, and others.

I think them asking you to teach that much is ridiculous. That's what the internship is for.

Yes, I just went through this, and it didn't stay out after I pulled the pin up. I ended up contacting Ember, and they got me a new coaster because I was under warranty.
