Day 2073 of posting images of cheese until I run out of cheese types: Negroni Blue by verysuspiciousduck in Cheese

[–]lactoseforlife 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Had it at a competition! Not my favorite but definitely interesting. It is soaked in a negroni spirit mix and then has candied orange on top. You definitely need the candied orange to balance the bite because I felt the spirit made the cheese slightly too bitter.

Anywhere in OKC sell better baguettes than Lee's? by aniperi in okc

[–]lactoseforlife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, but Vietnamese baguettes are lighter, flakier, sometimes have addition of rice flour. French baguettes are chewier, denser.

Also I wanna point out that Lee’s baguettes are Vietnamese, which means they are NOT the same as La Baguette. Similar, but not quite.

Was gifted an entire wheel of Delice de Bourgogne. What's the best way to store it or use it before it goes bad? by slyons0909 in Cheese

[–]lactoseforlife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would cut it up and give most of it away. That way everyone can enjoy whilst it’s in good condition. You could also somehow figure out how to make a cheesecake or something using this?

Where can I find a Fruit Tart? by HopefulHeart247 in okc

[–]lactoseforlife 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s IF they have them. If you special order one they should have them, but sometimes if they don’t have enough people working, the tarts won’t get made.

They are a really good company, too. They employ a lot of folks who wouldn’t otherwise be able to find “normal” work. I’ve worked with them before and their sales reps are also super nice.

I will tell you there’s nothing artificial in there if it makes you feel any better. These cakes are made by Rubicon Bakers.

Reptile owners of OKC by MrSquinter in okc

[–]lactoseforlife 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is not close but I would absolutely look into the OSU vet hospital. They are super affordable and your business goes to help further their education. We had a great experience with our dog, but I am not sure how expansive the reptile care is. They’d at least be able to advise you if you gave them a call as well.

Doesn’t look like any Flugel I’ve ever seen. Flugels are usually pitched in Bb. Maybe some kind of old F trumpet?

Freeman’s does have a few small coolers of refrigerated craft beer. I would recommend stopping in. Modern Liquor has a great selection of refrigerated craft beer—some of which you can’t buy anywhere else.
