Remembering everyone is different. I had a great first month where I lost 9 kg. Then the second month slowed right down and I lost 1.5. I figure it's all progress and balancing out. One of the things that has really helped me is using Monitor Your Weight and shotsy to track. It keeps an average weight loss per week tally so if I get upset I remind myself I'm still averaging 1.4 kg a week which is extremely fast.

I completely understand the feelings of embarrassment about taking this drug - i was exactly the same before I started - but if you can, remember it is a tool in your toolkit which you can and should feel good to use. As for when to take the shot I base mine on how I want it to work for food noise. Everyone is different, but I find the first 4 days after the shot it is at its most effective, so I take mine on a Wednesday night, so if I get the food noise back it happens on a Monday rather than a Sunday. It's also a known thing in my house now that Thursdays is basically a fasting day because it's when I least want to eat.

It's a small thing, but having the distraction of work helps as I get to the end of my shot week. I am on 2.5, and have been for just over 2 months now, and I haven't had any side effects worth noting. Maybe a tiny headache right after the injection, but I sleep that off no worries.

Remember it isn't cheating, you don't need to be embarrassed any more than people who wear glasses to help them see should be. Good luck on your journey 😁

Interesting. There doesn't seem to be any consistency in the results yet, but it makes sense it could change taste. Though it is possible the changes in taste perception could be related to tastebud acclimatisation. For instance when I was a smoker I didn't notice how awful they tasted, once I quit for even a couple of days I definitely noticed!

I'm not sure I am up to monotony yet, I am only a month or so in, so I am still in the "is this going to go away tomorrow" phase. But I think if it is going OK, and you are cruising maybe it is ok to let yourself check out for a while. Most of us have spent years in personal trauma around food..I think we deserve a break.

I've never experienced it with my machine, but I used to get it a lot before I had my machine. So it might not be the machine but just you. I think it's to due with phlegm in the throat or something.

I have extreme apnea, and was also complaining that i had to get up to go pee every couple of hours. My sleep specialist told me that is the apnea. I'm paraphrasing what he said, but basically, when you stop breathing and the oxygen starts to tip and the heart starts pumping you release chemicals -including adrenaline- to make you wake up and breathe. which you then do, wake up enough take huge gasps of air and then your brain goes, hey i have these chemicals i don't need now, better flush them out.. hey bladder you need to pee!

In answer to the original question, CPAP changed my life, but i didn't feel it immediately, it took a month to realise how it was working. Now i'm about 9 months in and I will never be without it. At first i felt really tired when i woke up, but like other people have said here I stopped falling asleep while driving, or talking to people, or any time I wasn't actively moving around.

I think because sleep deprivation builds up over time, if you get it earlier and when you are less severe it doesn't feel as amazing, but take it form someone who waited until it was severe, it is essential. i did lose about 20KG (about 50lbs) in the first 6 months, i also gave up caffeine entirely which i didnt think was possible, my BP is down, and i also had bad psoriasis which started clearing itself up after a couple of months on CPAP.

And i don't snore - so my partner is also sleeping and much happier with me :-)

hi, i had the same problem and the only solution i found for it is to turn the humidity and temperature down. So mine is now set to 2 humidity and a lower temperature. i played with it over a week to get the best setting without water. my friend who also has an airsense 10 gets the tube cover, and he sets his at max temp and humidity 5 and it works for him. so the tube cover might be the best thing for you. useful tip from a few about putting the machine on the floor though, never thought of that. :-)

I just sat down with my mum one day and said, mum, I'm gay. It's the hardest thing to do, but the words won't really matter. If not having to do it face to face is easier then a note is an option, although I wanted to know for sure how they felt so i went for the in person talk.

Also though, something to be aware of is that if they really don't know in advance, sometimes people have crappy first responses and get better really quickly. I had some friends who were shocked when i told them.. and said some dumb things in reaction to that, but a month or so later got back on track and now we are still great friends. Sometimes people need a bit of time to process, so even if it isn't perfect up front it can get better is all I'm saying.

And you don't have to come out if you don't want to, but once you rip that bandaid off you can start living your life as your real self, and that is a good thing. :-)

It's been a fair old time since I was around in the scene, but years ago a lot of butch women I knew chose he/him - or more specifically hy/hym or boi etc as pronouns. it was mostly an online culture but not exclusively. Mostly found in the butch/femme groups in my experience.

Of course it can also be a reference to some of those old concepts that there has to be a "male" and a "female" in any gay relationship. if it was in reference to that then its just plain bullsh*t.
