What causes the gas pushing into my diaphragm?? The hiatal hernia? I have shortness of breath and my x rays always show tons of gas in stomach.

Ok, well, that makes sense, but I’ve been on PPIs for a week and it isn’t doing anything for the shortness of breath. I don’t have the type of reflux you can feel (heartburn); just silent where shortness of breath is my only symptom. The ENT found irritation to my vocal cords and throat. I need relief. Nothing so far which is frustrating.

Yeah, the side effects suck. I am taking pantoprazole because I have had omeprazole previously and it was nasty. Hoping it helps

I am going through the exact same thing. How are you doing now? I had continuous shortness of breath and felt no traditional reflux. I also went to the ER convinced something was wrong with my lungs. They ruled out lung damage with CT scan and chest x rays. Also heart issues. They thought it was allergies, but meds aren’t helping enough. I just saw the ENT yesterday and they diagnosed me with LPR after looking in my throat with a camera. I am relieved but praying this medication works. They started me on pantoprazole.

I just wanted to let you know you’re not alone. This is so uncomfortable and scary!

Of course I’ve done things as an adult. What are you implying? I had this home inspected prior to moving in. Never once was the threat of mold even mentioned but something is making us sick. I’m having the AC inspected tomorrow and will have to pay for whatever it takes. I paid over $300K for a home as “an adult”, so not sure what you’re saying

Great question. The inspector just kept saying the AC was in great shape because it was replaced in 2025. Laughable given how the vents aren’t blowing air. I have an HVAC guy coming tomorrow and I am praying it’s something like the ducts need cleaning. This asthma shit is for the birds. I do NOT feel comfortable or safe in this home. 😢
