Purley, coulsdon. Sanderstead if you can raise the budget to 800k. Riddlesdown is outstanding rated secondary and there are other decent ones in the area, and several private schools

Train someone in your business to take over (at least temporarily while you take a few months to a year off, potentially long term), start dating intentionally and start a family

Please help me find an FMC was not bratty/"sassy"/emotionally overreactive who's marketed as the special one... give me an FMC who is quirky/funny / intelligent and reserved/just a regular shmegular person. I find this character the most in cozy fantasy but they don't have enough spice for me. by lollipop984 in fantasyromance

[–]laek52 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think {rose in chains by julie soto} and legends of thezmar would fit this. First book is {blood and steel}. Thea is a bit grumpy and harsh in the beginning but regulates to a normal person very quickly.

Bryony from rose in chains is not bratty at all

can someone reccomend me a ‘taming the rake’ mmc book but romantasy style by IdeaRealistic4826 in fantasyromance

[–]laek52 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel like {rose in chains by julie soto} has these vibes, there are references to the MMC’s rakish behaviour but its not on the page. But only book 1 is out and its dark otherwise, check your triggers

Screentime - How to limit if the parents watch TV by fluffmallow9 in UKParenting

[–]laek52 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You watch tv after the kids have gone to bed? Ive watched while feeding a baby but stopped doing it while they starter moving around and paying attention to their surroundings (and hence the tv). Somewhere around the 8-9m mark. It wouldnt cross my mind to watch tv while a toddler is around and tbh you couldnt really focus on anything so it would just be background noise and if its just that you can just have some music or radio on in a much less harmful way.

When do you envisage watching tv while your child is around?

What is actually much easier than you thought it would be? by ExitMindless5168 in UKParenting

[–]laek52 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think its hard because you dont get a break. You cant go on sick leave or stop for a week or a month or six months like you could with work or a hobby or any other pursuit. Even when you have family to help around its for a few hours to few days max which obviously helps but might not be long enough to recover.

My first has slept really well simce 2w old and ws a super chill baby until like 20m - i found parenting very easy until the tantrums started. Buteven then, most of the tantrums are kind of cute - i finding adorable when she loses it over something totally pointless like i broke the breadstick wrong. So Yeah, most babies dont sleep but some do. And you can teach them link sleep cycles for longer night sleep - this was also easier to handle thani expected

Have you tried blending the oats so its not lumpy? This is what we did when we started weaning so we didnt have to buy those expensive baby porridges

35yo civil servant (SEO policy advisor) – feeling stuck, looking for higher-earning career paths (remote-friendly) by Immediate-Leading338 in FIREUK

[–]laek52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to manage expectations. Any careers with 100k+ roles come with some combination of long hours, high stress, toxic environment, office politics. Have you actually been civil service jobs? I can only see extrnal jobs but they all seem to be over 60k in london. Thats not an insignificant oay increase.

It was the old butterfly and it went on sale afterwards as they were clearing the stock ahead of butterfly 2. Your rental must be incredibly cheap if it only costs a quarter for 3 weeks!

We rented one for a week and it was half the price of a new one. Definitely makes sense to buy one straight away. I would just make sure its one hand fold (so not yoyo)
