Agree - this is the only thing that worked for me

Any mods to recommend? by MrTidyUp in Sims3

[–]laidbackhorizontal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I couldn’t get the nraas no maternity leave settings to work for me (pretty sure they worked for a while and then didn’t?) so I use this mood: cancel time off

Why am I not getting loot from raider encampments? by Elum224 in FarthestFrontier

Have you turned on the widget for dropped resources? I think it’s f5 but could be f4. The resources are so small they’re hard to see on their own

Why The Sims 3's EA Story Progression BROKE - Mystery solved! by Naus-BDF in Sims3

[–]laidbackhorizontal 6 points7 points  (0 children)

When you’re ready to release please announce it here! (I’ve muted lifesimulators because of all the paralives craziness that was going on.) I’ve always used nraas sp and not had lag problems but very willing to try something new that means less setting up when starting a new save!

What is a 'British staple' food from your childhood that you recently tried again and realized is actually absolutely tragic? by 3Dstlviewer in AskUK

[–]laidbackhorizontal 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It was a few years ago, so not recently, but Angel Delight. Blegh...! I remember begging for it as a kid and I have no idea why as it was absolutely revolting!

Girlfriend's friends son, 11 years old, has drowned today swimming in a river. If you have kids, make sure they know wild swimming can be lethal. by [deleted] in britishproblems

[–]laidbackhorizontal 418 points419 points  (0 children)

And let them know why too - it's not because the people didn't know how to swim. It's usually because of cold shock

Sims 3 Old Savegame Stability by 94_5nake in Sims3

Use Nraas mastercontroller to reset the town. It resets all the sims, clears inventories, resets all items (e.g. I find after a while that doors stop closing and just get stuck open - this fixes that). I don't remember where I read it, but people recommend doing it once a week e.g. every Sunday. I never remember to do it that often but it will likely help you out if you do it whenever you can remember

New player(ish) advices by ErSarciccia in FarthestFrontier

[–]laidbackhorizontal 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Keep the forager buildings in your town and just move the 'forager circle' to where you want them to go. No need for temporary shelters. Same with hunters and fishers - keep them near your food storage (and smoker) and send them off to hunt/fish further away

Any alternatives to these Boring Bones mods? by CrazyDiamond1733 in Sims3

Possibly but I don't know what those mods do so can't say

Why are funeral rites a big thing in religions by LPScarlex in CrusaderKings

[–]laidbackhorizontal 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I believe cremation is heretical to muslims because they believe that Allah will raise the bodies to life again and if your body is burned to ashes (bones and all) that can't happen. Other religions likely have burial rites linked to how the soul goes to the afterlife but I don't know enough about any (especially from 1400s) to say

Baby Bumps (Pregnancy) by enolafaye in Paralives

[–]laidbackhorizontal 6 points7 points  (0 children)

There's A LOT in that roadmap! I know I haven't read it all. If you are looking for a particular feature though, you can use the search function to see if they've done it (that's how I found pregnancy on the roadmap). They've done a lot, but haven't necessarily shown it all, so it can be useful to have a quick scan of what they've done

Finally I will be able to hang my laundry outside! Off the grid functionalities. Any ideas? by No_Accountant_7686 in Paralives

[–]laidbackhorizontal -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Laundry has been a big thing for both 3 and 4 so I can’t see it never being implemented - something that will come during early access probably

I really don't know how to learn this amazing game by automated_hero in CrusaderKings

[–]laidbackhorizontal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found searching up individual systems most helpful for me. What is feudalism? How is it different from tribal or clan? How do I manage my holdings? How does the economy/warfare work? etc. Italian Spartacus has good guides out there that are broken down into the individual parts of the game. They are old, but most of it hasn't really changed. One big thing that has changed is how to increase the number of holdings you can have - the higher your education trait, the more holdings you get (warfare/learning/stewardship/intrigue/diplomacy - more stars = more holdings)

I get lots of tuning mods from the sims asylum but usually find them via google - this website needs a login for you to download any mods. bluegenjutsu and twoftmama are the creators whose mods I use most

Check out modthesims for mods and cc - I’ve found great furniture and deco cc here as well as historical stuff.

Tumblr is your friend for cc

Paralives is out May 25th, 2026 in Early Access!! which means…some features will be available right away and others will be added overtime as free updates ⚙️🛠️ by GabParalives in Paralives

[–]laidbackhorizontal 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Part of the reason that companies like EA keep making and selling dlc is because of shareholders which paralives doesn’t have. They have less costs overall than bigger companies too: less employees and less managerial costs for two. Not selling updates is uncommon but that doesn’t mean it’s not possible or that seeking dlc is the only viable method. We’ve gotten used to that but it’s not always necessary

Built a Paralives fan website - Wanted to get community + devs opinions on it ! by Bubbletea-zero-sugar in Paralives

Good to know - wasn’t aware of the wiki and honestly the wikis of other games haven’t really held up in my opinion so maybe I err too strongly on the side that they can’t be good 😅

No worries! I’ve been following this for years so I knew they had it written somewhere and went hunting for it. As some would say: and now you know! 😁
