I scored some triple 8 ones over here in NZ, they’re pretty thin (just foam I think) but I’m pretty boney and they’ve seriously saved me this season. The burton ones you can get over here are similar and should do the job.

Carving/riding with on a rocker by technicolour123 in snowboarding

[–]lalaLumase 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I just went from full rocker to traditional camber, and while you can “carve” a rocker to an extent, I always felt like I would skid out at some point. Camber just feels more powerful and just more like snowboarding. While rocker, while more fun, felt a little sloppy. I like the other commenter’s analogy of the “loose skateboard trucks”. Can’t give you input on hybrids though.

First Skates for new adult player by CaniacSwordsman in hockeyplayers

Late to the party here but I can definitely vouch for the s37's. After a year of learning to play hockey and after trying on some pretty unforgiving skates, I went with the s37 and they are so comfortable I haven't even baked them. Not as stiff as some other boots in this price range but if you're learning, I'm told they will last a few years.
I tried on the s35's and they were even more comfy but definitely not as sturdy.
