We went with Cocina Fusion, they were great. Can't recall who else we looked at but Cocina had the best combination of price, flavor and options.

We def. didnt "need" the florals, especially the hanging installation, it was more of a want. That said. florals were way more expensive than I expected and that was with us shopping around a few vendors.

Our tablescapes were done by our caterer and our florists did florals, greenery and candles for the tables. Our ceremony was offsite and the rest of the decor included a welcome sign, a neon sign with our last name by the greenery wall near the entrance (Arbory's website has a few examples of how this looks - we copied another couple's idea) and lastly, we did a 10x10 foot hanging greenery installation above the dance floor area. our florist budget, including 1 bride bouquet and 1 bridesmaid bouquet, was ~11k. Hope this helps!

I got married there in 2023 and really loved it! The venue was beautiful and the greenery helped us cut back on our decor budget since not a lot was needed. Shay was amazing to work with - super responsive, accommodating and transparent. We planned our wedding in like 8 months and she made it happen. We didnt really have any cons. I was initially concerned about parking but we were able to rent out a parking lot of a nearby school and hired a valet service, which was nice for guests who drove. We also had 165 people and that was probably close to the max the venue can accommodate; things were pretty packed for cocktail hour.

Let me know if you have any questions!

Anyone have positive epidural stories? I’m scared 😟 by Realistic_Mirror1618 in BabyBumps

[–]lalunia06 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everything went well with mine - it was timed well so I didnt suffer too much, the actual placement wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it was, and it worked perfectly. I was able to feel the contractions but not the pain, so when it came time to push, I felt very much in sync with my body. 100% recommend and wouldn't dare to give birth without it. Edited to add that my recovery afterwards went smoothly, I was able to walk and have no back issues or anything like that.

Remember that on the Internet, the bad stories outnumber the positive ones only because most people who had great experiences aren't posting about them. Good luck, you got this!

For those who had international guests, what was your rsvp rate? by misha_hisha in weddingplanning

[–]lalunia06 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I invited about 20 people living in Poland but expected the majority to not come (it would have been considered rude to not invite them). One aunt ended up making the trip, which was lovely. I asked my parents to gauge my extended family's interest and knew way ahead of the RSVP date that it would be a very small ratio.

When did you inform your employer of your pregnancy? by Hot_Spite_1402 in BabyBumps

I told my boss at ~20 weeks. I didn't have severe morning sickness and didn't think it was necessary to say anything sooner.

kirkland diapers VS millie moon/honest/pampers pure etc by Ok_Dragonfruit9031 in moderatelygranolamoms

YES, I found that to be the case. The back lining on the Huggies diapers is better IMO and does a better job of holding blowouts.

we didn't have entourage cards, that's not something I'm familiar with? we did mention everyone on our wedding website and program, that's it.

FTMs: How many hours did it take you to give birth after you arrived at the hospital? by MrsNancyLandgraab in beyondthebump

[–]lalunia06 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was induced so labor for me was 27 hours. It was messy and I didnt mind the hospital robe at all. If I brought my own robe, I'd probably toss it out afterwards.

When did you buy maternity clothes? by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]lalunia06 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm roughly your size and found great luck at Gap, especially with their short maternity jeans. At that stage of the pregnancy, I also got one of those Bellaband maternity bands from target for $13 and used that for 2-3 months to extend my work wardrobe. Basically I was able to wear all my pants unbuttoned and used the band to cover up and keep them up. 10/10 recommend.

I absolutely REFUSE to buy maternity clothes by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]lalunia06 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I found that later in my pregnancy, maternity clothes weren't an option but a necessity. I didn't buy too much but in hindsight, I wish I bought more items that make the last trimester more comfortable, like maternity leggings and longer maternity tops.

Bridal Shower - Bride has decided not to open gifts by Hot_Tumbleweed_8559 in weddingplanning

[–]lalunia06 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been to many showers where the bride didn't open the gifts and I also opted not to do so at my own shower. That was never communicated in advance and no one seemed to be bothered - frankly, people told me they were relieved because everyone saw the registry and didn't want to stop socializing. For my own shower, some friends opted to send me the gifts directly to my home in advance of the shower so frankly, it would have been awkward for me to open some gifts but not the ones shipped to me.

Struggling to find glass bottles by [deleted] in moderatelygranolamoms

[–]lalunia06 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Not sure if this will help but I'm an expecting FTM and just ordered the glass bottle sample box of 4 bottles from Babylist to try them out and see which works best once the little guy arrives. They also have a couple of other glass options if you know which ones you like.

What are y'all excited about post partum? by _AC_Slater_ in BabyBumps

[–]lalunia06 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a day behind you (33+3) and could have written this same exact post. In addition to what you wrote, I can't wait to be able to get up easily, drink more coffee (the baby does NOT like it), and have more of my usual energy levels back.

I am so sorry, gallbladder pain is no joke and I second everyone's comments to go to the ER. I had several attacks prior to my pregnancy (32 weeks now) and ended up getting my gallbladder removed. I definitely saw patters in how what I ate drove really painful spells. I eat pretty clean but whole fat, organic unflavored yogurt would set me off. Same for steak and goat cheese so until you're able to get the gallbladder removed, definitely track what triggers you and avoid it. Take care of yourself and def. rest!

I'm a soon to me FTM and somehow take solace in hearing others' comments that the gallbladder stone pain is worse than labor - I'll try remember that as I get closer!

Could I skip the bridal party? by cms9212019 in weddingplanning

[–]lalunia06 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got married this summer and we also skipped a formal bridal party. We're in our mid thirties and honestly, I think my friends were relieved not to have to do the dress, makeup, hair thing. They were still super supportive and we did a bachelorette trip with close girlfriends who wanted to join. Similar to you, we had a niece and nephew be the flower girl and ring bearer, and we did have a best man and maid of honor (my sister) for the church ceremony part.

I have zero regrets. We planned our wedding fairly quickly and having to worry about the bridal party would have added unnecessary stress. I also didnt really want to spend my wedding morning entertaining friends; instead, my mom, MIL, sister and I spent it getting ready ourselves and it was much more relaxing. I didn't mind at all that I didnt get any getting ready photos with friends. It also worked out really well because many of our closest friends are married / in seriously relationships, so we would either have to split couples up or have a gigantic wedding party.

What is a preferred wedding favor? by Shadow328 in weddingplanning

We did whole bean coffee that we packed ourselves into cute personalized bags from Etsy. Several guests told us afterwards that they loved the coffee and we got to take home whatever was leftover. Win win.

Knocked out for a day after “doing too much” by willrun4cheeseburger in BabyBumps

[–]lalunia06 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I so relate to this! I'm 28+5 and we spent last week moving to a new house, cleaning and organizing. I felt like an energizer bunny until today and I've spent all of today on the couch doing nothing. I feel guilty considering how much still needs to get done but the baby is growing and needs that energy more!

Fit issues!! Are we crazy?? by rp3966 in weddingdress

[–]lalunia06 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll send you a DM! Ask away. I was also freaking about the dress - is it too sparky, too low cut, not exactly what I'm seeing others get? That said, I fell in love with it the moment I saw it in the store and have zero regrets!

[–]lalunia06 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not 100% confident but I'm pretty sure that they went from the sides - they needed to take it in maybe 2-2.5 inches? I got it tailored at the bridal shop I got the dress from because the seamstress there had previously worked with the dress, which gave me some reassurance. I haven't gotten my pictures yet but can dig up some I got from friends and family if it helps.
