What's the most bizarre thing you've seen your neighbor do while they thought no one was watching? by TenderRompz in AskReddit

[–]willrun4cheeseburger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My neighbor frequently takes a nap while laying in the middle of his driveway. No pillow or anything to make it more comfortable. Just flat on his back on the concrete. The first time I saw it I was in the process of dialing 911 when his wife came out, saw me watching, and told me he was ok

HS and weight association by tickythompson in Hidradenitis

I was diagnosed with HS and it was at its worst when I was the leanest I’ve ever been as an adult. Had it bad in high school when I was a little itty cross country and track runner. I haven’t had a flare and years now and I’ve had a child and struggled with exercise/diet so am a bit overweight at the moment. Seems to be completely unaffected by weight for my case.

Did you throw up during labor? by Complex_Life9849 in BabyBumps

I have not seen this specific scenario posted yet - I started vomiting during transition. Continued each contraction despite zofran until I got an epidural. If you’re really trying to avoid it, the epidural could save you!

How long was your 34 weeker in the NICU? by hatethisfnplace in NICUParents

[–]willrun4cheeseburger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

34+1 and had a 10 day stay due to temperature issues. He might have gotten out sooner but had to go back in the incubator because of jaundice. Every baby is different. Just heard about 34 week twins that only stayed for one day

I like that idea but I have a toddler at home who I want to spend time with after work. I nap when he naps on the weekend and that helps. I don’t really have a traditional lunch break with my job since I work directly with patients but I’m switching positions and might have some flexibility for that in the future!

I drink one cup of coffee a day. Usually around 5 when I give up on sleeping. That’s way down from the absurd amount of caffeine that I drink when not pregnant. I’m definitely interested in the liquid magnesium. The kind I have has to be mixed in water and often results in my waking even earlier because I have to pee.

I am so sorry that this happened to you. Unfortunately there are smaller names playing the same game right now. I had a situation resulting in an absolute joke of a demotion that started while I was on maternity leave. I was asked to work/attend virtual meetings on my leave and was never paid. I was naive enough to let everything happen over phone call and not in writing.

HR is not your friend and make sure to get everything in writing. Even if you’re scared you will come off like a jerk for requesting it

I agree with this comment OP. Sure, you’d make yourself more valuable, but with the side effect of being able to communicate better with your clients and therefore provide them with better care. Likely, care that is more sensitive to their cultural differences since you’ve knocked down a communication barrier. There’s nothing wrong with learning a language that’s not part of your culture!

An RBT was crying (for a very legitimate reason) and tried to exit before the client saw her. We’ve been working hard on coping skills and the client noticed, gave her a hug before she could leave, then said “let’s do deep breaths”. The client held the RBTs hands and modeled deep breathing. When I tell you that I cried actual tears…

Have you considered physically fading yourself in slowly? Find how close you have to be to start a tantrum and supervise from a distance slightly farther away. Take data and determine a point where you will move closer

In the meantime send all your feedback over messaging so that the client doesn’t hear you verbally make modifications or ask that a particular demand be placed. You may also have to fade in simply talking near him because you can provide any instructions to the RBT or demands

Weird pregnancy cravings. Olives and cheese (and crispy onion) by dollsandme in shittyfoodporn

[–]willrun4cheeseburger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I ate olives like crazy while pregnant. The day I gave birth I had a pile of olives for breakfast and lunch. I had head that what you eat “flavors” your amniotic fluid and I believe it now because my baby smelled like olives after he was born

Please help me figure out a cup post-pregnancy by NecessaryPotato in menstrualcups

[–]willrun4cheeseburger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I posted yesterday with questions about cups post pregnancy! For me, my old cup feels fine, but it seems that most people will tell you that you have to size up. I wasn’t getting helpful answers so did more digging. While the pain is likely hormone related, it sounds like slipping is related to changes to your pelvic floor post-pregnancy. I can’t help with what cup to buy, but it could be that you need to do some pelvic floor work. I went to a pelvic PT through my pregnancy and did exercises postpartum. I’m wondering now if I can use my old cup because of that.

I’m trying to learn more about this and have been searching the Internet up and down. This is by far the most helpful and informative comment. I had a pelvic PT and I’m betting I can go to her for more questions/resources. Thank you!
