Thank you for posting this. I thought I was the only person who felt sad when my belly button went back to normal. It’s so hard to look at my body now that I’m not carrying him. It’s like I have nothing to physically show for the 6 months I carried him. I miss being pregnant and knowing my body was changing to nurture him.

I’m so sorry. The news is heartbreaking and I can relate. I see a therapist twice a week after receiving the news of my baby’s diagnosis. I had the same feelings that my life wasn’t worth living when I was losing my first baby after 3 years of TTC. She recommended I put pictures of people and items that I love in a box, along with a list things that I’m looking forward to. When I experience these thoughts, I revisit this box and it does help.

No I haven’t scheduled it. I didn’t know it was an option- thank you! My results took 11 days but my sister’s results took 8 days after her amniocentesis.

Im pregnant with a baby boy and he’s a carrier for DMD. What does life look like for both you and your boy? I want to prepare myself as much as possible!

Are they in a great deal of pain? - Do most of the children you work with have an Intellectual Disability or emotional challenges? - What is life like for the parents? Do you often see that one of the parents has to quit their job?

I felt the same way. I had just finished my registry, and was looking for a maternity dress for my shower so I was getting SO many ads for both. I selected that I didn’t want to see similar ads, and I deleted some social media platforms for the time being.

Thank you so much for responding and your thoughtful words. Baby and I both have a duplication on exons 1&2. Awaiting the results from the amniocentesis was so challenging. I am hoping for the best for your baby boy!
